I'm with you. We're likely better than UD, but this is a CAA road game against a young and improving team with plenty of athletic talent. Throw in some sloppy conditions and nothing would surprise me.

Sloppy conditions are the great equalizer, regardless of talent. A few errant turnovers and its down to the 4th quarter/last drives. Does Delaware play on natural grass?

I'll do no such thing. I was concerned about Stony Brook and felt like an idiot when we beat the hot piss out of them. Now that we're playing a much worse team I'm going to go around telling everyone I know about what a big win we're in for.

You're looking at this thing all wrong. Our collective paranoia about Stony Brook got us a win. I say we all appease the football gods by being paranoid again, and hopefully we get the same result.

Well, when you're done telling everyone that the Tribe is coming, be sure to leave in time to make the game. You have a day trip to Newark if by land, two if by sea.

I totally get it. If you believe we are getting too optimistic at any point, you can either scroll down to the postings from last year's New Hampshire game or visit the other planet over at the JMU board. They may be booking reservations in Frisco already for their "return" trip to Dallas. 05-stirthepot Hopefully, we know better than to look too far ahead. Every basketball season teaches us that. I have no problem with ZableNoise being confident. Eventually, we all might have higher expectations.

If God seeks to balance the sporting scales, then a certain former player from Villanova will cost the Cubs a shot at the World Series sometime in the next 3 weeks. Still not over that faked punt.

BTW, we lost the UVA game because my daughter switched seats with 3 minutes to go. Stay paranoid, I say. Also, perhaps begin building a boat to take to the game.......

Alright. For you, wrnbldg, I'll temper my expectations. I hope we don't get caught looking ahead to Villanova. This could be a "trap game" against a clearly inferior team. I also hope our team doesn't come out slow due to the cavernous emptiness that will be "The Tub" on Saturday. Lastly I hope that Dave Brock hasn't been sandbagging us with his coaching "abilities" in order to catch Jimmye and Co off-guard.

Laycock said Abdul-Saboor is "day to day" into Saturday's game at Delaware. "Hopefully it resolves itself and he's ready to go, but I don't know," Laycock said.

I'd be fine if MAS sits out. I don't want to see him get hurt or reinjured in a wet and sloppy field. I don't think we lose much with Anderson and Dunn other than in short yardage. I actually think that keeping him fresh will help us later in the season.

Delaware has field turf.

I don't want Saboor's injury to worsen or linger either. However, there is a huge dropoff from him to anyone else. Anderson has had a good game or two in the past, but he is no where near as reliable as MAS. However, if MAS sits out, this is his opportunity to be the man. Last season, Saboor rushed for nearly 200 years against the Blue Hens, so not having him is a big deal. Any other news from the Tuesday night show?

Anderson has had some problems holding onto the ball. We need MAS to play if he can.

I choose to believe that he intentionally bobbled the ball against Stony Brook to create a diversion.

RE: Delaware
If you breakdown each game this season, there is no indication that Kendall is not capable of carrying the load if needed. The only thing I will regret not having Mikal should he be held out is the 1,2 punch they give each other.

They run hard. Defenders don't like to tackle hard runners. When one goes out and the other comes in there is no drop off in how hard they run.

If we mix in bubbles to Dedmon or even Armstrong or Hart (if healthy) that's just like a run.

Rogers seems to be dialed in on the team's strength this season, calling a good game. We'll be fine should Mikal be out, long season, why put it at risk if he's not 100%.

Kendell had a couple in 2013, and one against Hampton last year. He hasn't fumbled since.

I have no criticism of Kendell or his effort. He is not Abdul-Saboor. MAS is one of the top 5 backs we have ever had. So, if he is not in the game, we definitely lose something. Plus, if the game turns into a physical war in the trenches, Saboor is the best we have at getting the tough yards. If Saboor cannot play or is less than 100%, Kendell gets the shot to run with it. He did extremely well with that opportunity on Saturday. We need both long term for the season.

Point taken. The two lost in the 2013 JMU game haunts me, especially the one in our redzone. Emotional compounding factor. He played much less than MAS that year but fumbled more. True, he only had one last season on 66 carries so that means his average in 2014 would've been about once every three games. Point taken, that's not bad.

I like Anderson's game...he's clearly worked on protecting the ball. I'll TRY better to be patient.

The one in the game vs JMU haunts me. Compounding factor.
