It's calmed down a little bit. Hopefully no more hard downpours. Go Tribe!

The heavy rain on radar appears to be inching northward, now up toward the Rappahanock. Northern Virginia now starting to get pounded.

I have bought tickets for the JMU game on Halloween and the Mrs. will be joining me for the first time since we left Virginia after the '97 season when she went with me to all the home games.
I don't think the Tribe mobile will make the trip, however. It is closing in on 300 K miles and the wife refuses to ride in it anymore. Something about feeling every bump in the road and not having room for any gear. Just because the car is 23 years old and is a little small (It is a Miata), I do remind her that the car was purchased for her and she used to drive it everyday, but that was may years and many miles ago. Not quite right to make a road trip without it, but I have conceded on this point to get her to come.
Go Tribe!
Oh, do you have a "distinctive" license plate? I think you're the folks for whom we got some speed-cam tickets years ago! (The cameras couldn't distinguish NC tags from Virginia tags.)
Anyway, wish I could be there tonight, but I had a funeral to go to in Harrisonburg. Mrs. Ribe will be there, though. Go Tribe!!

Cleared up pretty good now. Hopefully not everyone is scared away.

Sounds like there is a chance the JMU game Saturday gets moved to Stony Brook. Decision to be made tomorrow. Given the flooding there yesterday and the potential for another 10-12 inches of rain beginning Friday, it might be moved. Have not heard anything similar concerning our game. Plus, moving it to Williamsburg would like not yield any different weather. The path of Hurricane Joaquin could affect more than just Saturday's football games. I am hoping it turns east out into the Atlantic and not towards the NC, VA, MD, and Delaware coastlines.

Where are you hearing this about the JMU game? Haven't seen that anywhere.

False alarm. Game will be in Harrisonburg. Saw discussion based on the campus flooding but even though very rainy game will go on at noon but grass parking lots are closed.

This week, I'm rooting for the Tribe and Stony Brook. My head tells me I should want JMU to come into Zable on 10/31 and be a bigger Halloween Treat for the Tribe. My heart hopes Stony Brook grinds the Dukes into the mud...

Yes we share a license plate, and thanks again for handling that stoplight camera ticket for me.
The cheap SOBs in NC take my money ever year and 17 years later I have a really faded nasty looking plate. When this car finally dies, if it ever does, I might turn the plate in and then order it for the other Miata after a few months have passed so I get a new one. I keep thinking I'll get rid of the old ride, but now it's almost an antique, just like me.
