Memphis has 50k at a Thursday night game as a G5 school. Ark State, the main ones talking trash ITT would have only had 15k. Maybe.

Sorry, but I gotta take up for my conference mates.

RE: Same ol' Memphis football
I'll wait on final attendance numbers before I concur there's 50,000 in that stadium but considering the city of Memphis has a population of 650,000 + and a program that's finally stopped sucking so much, I would hope real fans would turn up against a hated rival like Cincy

(BTW, Just wanted to point out that in 7 home games last year in a new stadium Houston barely averaged a little over 28,000 a game)

We'll have a Tuesday night game in October. Tune in and see if we hit 15,000. And for a town the size of Jonesboro...we do well.

I was hoping to lure Drew out of the darkness, but he's either at the lake or game.

We would still have the highest attendance in the Sun Belt by a wide margin.

Considering Houston is probably larger than the combined Sun Belt population, I would hope so.

It's just the same ol' Memphis....just a new year.

You jinxed it calling it early. Thought you might have learned from the Mizzou game

Sorry I'm a Statistics nerd

The metro area is large. The city...not so much. But you could probably still add the SBC cities in that total.

Metro is still part of the city!

If that's the case then Memphis is bigger than Atlanta.

Metro area is much different.

Atlanta city sq miles is only 133 sq miles as Houston is 599 sq miles

Most people when you talk about a major cities population you include the metro

Regardless. We all know just because your in a major city doesn't mean great attendance. More often than not attendance isn't great at all because there's more to do than watch G5 football.

Sorry, but I gotta take up for my conference mates.

1. The Sensitive little kittens remain our biggest rivals. We're going to talk smack about them all we want, no matter if you like it or not.

2. The idea we'd only have 15K for a Thursday Night game against Cincy is laughable. We get more than that for games against SBC teams on Tuesday nights.
