I've always thought we should play a season opener at the Dome, maybe with another game with different teams each year as undercard. Maybe a SWAC-vs.-MEAC thing?

I should not have included Tulane as being in the "bunch of Louisiana schools" which are the original regional universities scattered all over the state. Tulane is private and dance to their own tune and are surpassed in attendance and fan support by just about every one of the public regional schools.

Select any reason or explanation you like but I have sat in season tickets, upper deck, almost directly (more to mid field tho) from visitors sections and have an unobstructed view. I have also visited Tech and ULL to watch the Eagles and will say we have at least twice as many fans go to Laf than Dogpatch.

Cajuns are notoriously bad with directions and fear that if they get lost near Ruston, they may never find their way home out of the wilderness. That's the reason so few make the trip...............that and the fact we usually get our asses kicked.

I'm not doubting you, I just think it's strange that they won't travel to Ruston. I know they sucked for most of their history, so maybe they will be fired up about possibly winning in Ruston this year and travel a little better.

I dont understand why every thread about The University of Louisiana has to be stalked by a Latex fan. Stalkerish. Dont you have an excuse list to make?
Most Cajun fans dont want to drive through 3 hours of pine trees only to find the Rustonians idea of a good place to eat is Applebys. Also, the banjo music scares us. We like a good gameday experience and rust-on doesnt hold a candle to Lafayette. And we have traveled well before. Like last season when we beat yall in basketball. I would say we would travel to play yall in baseball but you would actually have to field a team for that.

Anyway-I have heard talk of a home and home or maybe a season opener in the Superdome against USM. I think its a great idea. Ive been a casual fan of USM ever since I can remember. And the fan base seems to be pretty normal, unlike our little sisters up there in Ruston, South Arkansas.

I am looking forward to a series with The University of Louisiana, and I too think it would be great in the Superdome for maybe two of the four games. Win/win for both schools.
