TO TXSTATE FANS...
I have read on some other message boards your fans bashing the Bobcats but honestly I thought they were tough. I mean our defense struggled just like yours. The spread/option offense is just difficult to defend against. Your QB (as our coach said) could play for anyone in the country. I think it was USM getting up early that caused TXSTATE to have to play catch up for most of the night, but the game could have gone either way. I think USM's defense was a little better but just enough. Just saying, nice game and I think the Sunbelt should not overlook you guys.

Nice of you to say, and your assessment may be correct. . . . For a lot of us (Bobcat fans). . . . We've been down this road a lot . . . . We may have legitimate cause for concern . . . . Or maybe we're just a little jaded. . . . .

Enjoyed the series with you guys, would love to see our schools do another . . .

Good luck to y'all the rest of the way . . . .

I was impressed with your whole program. Your team played their asses off. I'd love to see this series continued.
Last night our receivers caught pretty much everything thrown at them. You have a really good team, and I think you'll be playing in a bowl.
Good luck, Bobcats.

I was at the game. I think the blown call was what really deflated our momentum. Our defense executed poorly too. I was really hoping for a win at this game. It was a great crowd! More than some of the MWC teams.

You were over at Bobcatfans, eh?

Don't mind some of our fans... They are extremes: If we had won, Ohio State better watch out. If we lose, we couldn't beat Our Holy Sister of the long hoses.

I do think our offense underperformed, but they've been doing that all season. We noticed your no huddle up tempo offense caused problems, and we had problems adjusting, which is where a lot of our issues come from.

Nevertheless, I say USM came and did the job they needed to in order to win. I tip my hat to you guys, and wish you much success the rest of the season.

Yes I think it was Bobcatfans message board. They sound similar to our EaglePost board. Good luck rest of the way man.

I always enjoy the awkwardness of showing up after winning and trying to talk the losing fans off the ledge. It comes off as something like "Don't worry guys, we're actually pretty good...you'll see" "You almost beat us...I mean, you're almost there"

RE: TO TXSTATE FANS...
The only way this loss is even semi acceptable, is if y'all are really as improved as y'all think y'all are.

No offense to your team, but since 2011, y'all have been one of the worst teams in the fbs. Unless y'all have made it back to where y'all were, us losing to y'all means that we are that bad. So I'm hoping that y'all go on to win CUSA and make this loss hurt just a little less.

Good luck the rest of the season and know that you have at least one more rooting for y'all to win the championship.

There's a VERY good chance you will be doing that to Texas State fans a bunch this season. :(

RE: TO TXSTATE FANS...
In general, college football forums are TOXIC, especially after a tough loss.

Thanks for the encouragement...and hopefully if you came to San Marcos, you had a good time and enjoyed the town/campus/tailgate/stadium. I chatted with some USM fans tailgating before the game, they were very complimentary and seemed impressed with the atmosphere.

Our defense has to get a lot better and it has to happen quickly. Playing @UH, @ULL, USA, and @GSo in the next 4 games is going to be brutal if they can't make stops.

I don't do that to conference teams unless they suck.

If we don't find a defense or a defensive scheme that works for us and FAST . .. .
Then our sucking is a foregone conclusion . . . .
