If the red was throwing out racial slurs and all that then he should be banned from reffing.

And this I do agree with what's the mob menatlity on destroying two kids lives.

Applying discipline/justice actually improves and molds lives for the better....

RE: Roughing the referee - TEXAS High School Football
I can tell you that from my experience as a ref....that 95% of the kids in the central Texas region don't act like that.

The refs in this region don't use racial slurs toward players, either. We count on our crews to buffer any problems away from an individual ref.
Also, you are so busy as a ref in a Friday night game...you don't have time to argue with players.

IF, there were issues with racial slurs from an official....all a player would have to do...is tell his coach. The coach would tell the head ref....and the issue would stop, immediately. Or, the offending official would be told to head to the locker room and sit out the rest of the game. Period!

I have reffed for 10 years in this area...and have never had a problem with a player similar to this one. Coaches and fans, however.....well, they get crazy sometimes.

BTW, it is a Felony in Texas to assault a game official.

I feel a proper punishment for these two boys, after their schools get done with them.....Allow them to become fb officials. So they could see life from a different angle.

Initial release after preliminary hearings. Not good. Full article on the KSAT12 news page:

Excerpt:
During a news conference Tuesday afternoon, Northside Independent School District officials said that defensive secondary coach Mack Breed was placed on leave because he told the two players "That guy needs to pay for cheating us."

The plot thickens.

Wow. So I'm guessing the racial slurs weren't used. They just felt "cheated" by officiating. Sounds like every fan every game.

Exactly they made a huge mistake but they should get a chance to learn from it. The worst thing to do would be throwing them in our justice system that creates more criminals then rehabs them.

While jail time may not be the correct solution, this psychopathic behavior requires more than community service.

Maybe some anger management training or something to that effect. Let them witness and work with people to see what these bad decisions could really lead to

The kid got a slap on the wrist. No details. The game was against Allen High School (remember the $60 million crumbling football stadium?)

No matter how bad a game is, you just can't do this - That ref could have been seriously injured.

They should permanently expelled from football

They are idiots should be suspend or kicked off team. But I do wonder what was really going on in that game considering two players were ejected earlier. I don't condone it but I do wonder if it was warranted.

What could have possibly warranted attempting to paralyze a human being? Nothing that could possibly come out of anyone's mouth warrants that... I don't care what they said.
