The pick that ended up a touchdown was a good throw and bounced off the receivers shoulder.
being down 21- 0 in the first quarter hurt the fans more than the team.
Many fans were ready to call it a season and ready to fire everyone in the athletic department.
The team fought on scoring twenty eight points and mostly looked solid.
Idaho would look solid on D then bam give up a big play .
Part of it I hope was the new defense .
Our running back looked good (a little under used) and run blocking.
Linehan completed 75% of his passes and Epps our number one receiver looked good as ever.
Limit the big plays run more we can be a decent team .
I'm optimistic but not unreasonable in thinking that.

I watched maybe one quarter of the game. You are right about your defense. They would make some good stops and then give up another big play. The offense was okay. If you can shore up the defense you should win a couple.

The good thing for ULM is that we found our quarterback for the year and WR Rashon Ceaser is going to get double coverage the rest of this season which should open up one of our other receivers. NT Gerrand Johnson was so respected that Georgia double and triple-teamed him all game.

Regarding ULM's three injuries from the Georgia game, our OT starter Baltazar will play against Nicholls this weekend. In fact, he practiced today and was fine. Our second team DE Tyson could possibly come back about mid-season. But our backup running back Meadors is out for the season with a lower body injury.

I know he hasn't, but it seems like Ceaser has been playing for ULM for a decade.

Yeah. That was uglier than that poor woman on Throw Momma From The Train.

We averaged 46 yds on punts and were only called for 1 penalty. Silver linings baby.

The penalty is not an easy thing either. These are young men out there, and are used to being able to execute what they want. When that adversity hits, it's usually followed by penalties. Just happens when you know what you're trying to do, but are outmatched from a talent standpoint. Kids get flustered and maybe go for a hold or an extra step before the snap, or even worse, show up a few steps too late.

So that really speaks well of your team's discipline, even in adversity. At least it does to me (I can say that like this, because my Bobcats did the same).

Yeah, you're right. With the *ss whooping we were toting, it would have been easy to get chippy and get some unsportsmanlikes, etc. I don't have the data in front of me, but I think penalties since Coach Fritz got here have been way down compared to previous years, so I definitely do take it as a positive and hope it continues.
