RE: When was the last time southern was blanked?

USC, Ohio State, Alabama, etc. and Kansas, Oregon State, Indiana, Purdue, etc. are not in the same league. West Virginia is not in that elite territory but not in the second group I listed either.
People like to say "conference X went 3-3 against conference Y" but that is almost meaningless without context for each game.
No WVU would not be the fave against AL or OSU but they are definitely far from the bottom. Their D is really good, the only weaknesses I saw were being bowled over from an AL type team with huge backs and their QB was not fast and missed some easy throws. Against an elite P5 those little flaws get magnified. I would not be surprised to see them contend for the conference as they are set up to defend the spread offenses really well. Take it for what is worth but all the WVU posters on the other boards are saying this might be their best team in 20 years. We will see.

except for u-laf, an embarrassing showing by all. I expected losses but hard fought respectably close games and we got a bunch of inept showings and beatdowns that surely show the conference is barely above fcs level at this point and even some fcs teams managed to pull off upsets.
