I would prefer to root for every SBC team than to point out the shortcomings of any other team. Before becoming an elitist, support your fellow Sun Belt Conference members, even Idaho and Georgia State. They both bring value to the conference.

Your absolutely correct, I've been guilty of this and need to stop.

Time for everyone to pick themselves up by the bootstraps....no more pity parties. There is still a lot of football to be played this season. Positivity brings positive things!

Granted GS disappointed to an extent because they didn't even keep it somewhat respectable. As an App fan I also am aware that the GS fans will always have something to rant about even had they kept it close.

The only significant disappointment any of us should look at from last weekend is Ga State. They looked like the lowest of the low, UNCC is a joke but yet somehow Ga State found a way to gift wrap them a win. I am not sure where that program can go from here, but realistically it can only be up. Trent Miles will likely be let go somewhat soon, but that place looks to be a hard hire. Throw in Charlie Cobb's hiring process (or lack thereof) and this could be a circus for years to come.

Now we all move to the unfortunate matter if by any reason Ga State beats any of us.....04-jawdrop04-jawdrop04-jawdrop04-jawdrop04-jawdrop
Won't be surprised if Georgia State wins one or two in conference play. They lost 3 games last year by field goals.

I agree, but it's sad that the main reason they might win a game is because UAB folded its program.

-lala had Kentucky on the ropes and nearly pulled the W out against the SEC
-no doubt georgia southern fans are very disappointed by the results of their game but considering they were without their starting QB and had to contend with a stingy wear Virginia D I think slack can be given
-much like troy and Texas state, NMSU was contending with re surging gator squad at the swamp with a team that despite playing experience are still relatively young
-ULM had to contend with Cubbs and lightning...enough said
-astate had a late kick off and Yes our offensive woes didn't help our cause, USC is USC. If we could only get 6, I can't WAIT to see how yall fair next Saturday.

I'll say this; I knew idaho would have there hands full against Ohio; they've been a very steady and successful program for the last 6+ years.

The ONLY team that should be getting some haterade is Georgia state. You've been FBS for 3 seasons with 1 win (against Abilene Christian) to show for it.

Just speaking of Troy.....maybe NC state will not play a better game....even us playing pretty well........OR AT LEAST BETTER THAN THE LAST FEW YEARS....They NC STATE one penalty....no turnovers....21-23 passing....great balance on running back....they were good that night.....maybe we made them look better but they were good that night.....Our rush and pass defense were not that bad....AGAIN COMPARATIVELY to past few years.......IF NC STATE plays that well they will contend with the top of their conference...

Yes, I guess it is a crime that Southern fans lament a loss and feel disgusted. Heaven forbid we try to ascribe reasons why things went the way they did. I remember similar introspective thought from App fans when Wofford and Georgia Southern beat the Mountaineers the same year they beat Michigan.

As for last evening, I don't believe too many folks think that we win that game last night with Ellison under center ... but I will say I doubt we get blanked.

WHY? You want why? Let me give you the short version:

They're flat out better than you, period.

losses were to be expected but I was surprised that gaso didnt put up a better fight. some of the other games were certainly embarrassing especially while a few fcs schools were pulling upsets. the txst game went about as I figured. they can play as hard as they want, they just dont have an offense minded coach and points win. no school at our level can stop many p5 teams so you have to win by keeping the ball longer and having some offense. gastate and Idaho should just should give up. It doesnt matter too much about the rest of the schedule as far as getting some respect, the whole conference mostly dropped the ball.

I don't get all of the negativity towards Idaho. Ohio is a solid MAC team that goes bowling almost every year.

ohio is not a weak sister team but Idaho just didnt show anything. I was hoping that some of their weaknesses had been addressed and that they would field a scrappier team this year. gastate doesnt seem to be able to beat anybody and cant get any fans to come out to help build a fire under them. they should google up fellow startup utsa and see what they are doing.

Commuter school in Atlanta, playing in a dome that lost it's allure before many of the players for Ga State were even born. Oh yeah, and they haven't won an FBS game in more than 2 seasons.

start-ups in large metro areas have a tough row to hoe. there are many other activities in the area competing for fans and it is hard to get the city behind you because you are not the main game in town. there is not the generations old fan base that plan their weekend around stuff going on at dear ol U. It works for utsa because they are the only game in a town of a million+ and they chose right from the start to bring in name teams to play setting the tone as top level.

Just hate to lose and haven't had to deal with it much. So as fanbase we're spoiled. I admit it.

PS. Agree we could do a better job of crediting other teams and not finding excuses. WV whipped our ass, period.
