The way the Jags' offense is playing we may need to end this game thread. Just kidding. They just need to settle down get their heads in the game.

The Jaguars are having all they can handle from Gardner-Webb. Doesn't look like they took this bunch seriously.

It wasn't a pretty win but it's a heck of a lot better than a loss to Shawlot.

The first drive the offense was fast as heck and efficient and scored in no time. Then at times they looked sloppy and young. We have potential but the season is still a big question mark.

Reminds me of the first drive of almost every Jags game I've seen over the last few years... followed by 30 minutes of half-assed offense and a lackluster defensive save... followed by a fourth quarter of just-enough-offensive prowess to squeak one out in the end -- REGARDLESS of the level of competition. Yup, looks like another 6-6 year for us (and that'd be fine with me under the circumstances assuming we go bowling again???).

Seriously, after the FIRST lightning delay it looked like the Jags must have been spending the 30 minute break passing the bong and the draft beers while Gardner Webb was making adjustments on both sides of the ball. I think I even smelled some pot drifting up through the portals from underneath the west side bleachers...

But HEY... we got the "W". That's better than our meltdown vs Southern Utah the last time we ended a season 6-6.

Last year, Charlotte lost to Gardner Webb 27-24, so that statement seems accurate.

Discipline is always an issue, just the MO of the Joey Jones team I guess. I wish he would fix that. Hopefully we were playing lame duck as to not show Nebraska or San Diego St to much.

What discipline problems did you guys see?

7 penalties:
-- Holding on opening kickoff.
-- False start
-- Substitution infraction
-- Offsides
-- Pass Interference
-- Substitution infraction
-- Holding

These look like first game jitter things to me. This is not the unsportsmanlike fouls of 2012 that we see here.

I didn't see discipline issues as much as just focus.
