Actual was about 7k until the 3rd quarter

If you saw our defense last year, you'd think that side of the ball was pretty exceptional today. Started to wear down late, but overall played a pretty good game. We couldn't stop anyone last year.

QB play is going to be a huge problem this year. Matt Johnson is weak in the redzone and always has been. With better qb play and a center that doesn't snap it high every play, we have 2-3 more tds.

not trying to burst your bubble, but the state defense was atrocious. you guys basically got burned on every long pass play by state, but arbuckle couldn't hit the broad side of a barn yesterday. no to mention ga state has no run game. I think your defensive performance was more due to a lack of skill and execution on the ga state side.

Awkward wording on my part, but the next sentence should have cleared it up.

The defense did get a little gassed, but I put that on the QB and the OC.

Weren't the GSU fans touting how the only teams to keep them under 31 last year were P5 teams? You can't have it both ways. They only managed 20, and that last 7 was highly questionable. Overall, the defensive effort was solid.

Charlotte has to improve their QB play. 5 TOs and 0-4 in the red zone will get them killed against even average teams. That said, it was their first FBS game, and emotions were riding especially high. Not surprised by the errors. Just need to clean them up going forward. Bring on Presby!

Artifice, you have a very very bad football team. We just happen to be worse.

Honeslty, Liberty or CCU either one would probably beat either team on the field. I was expecting to at least see some offensive fireworks from GSU. Maybe Arbuckle will get rolling at some point.
Liberty plays GaSt on Oct. 3rd in Atlanta so we'll know then. Liberty has a very strong team this year and they will be very motivated with the Coastal invite and to play with a chip on it's shoulder. Expect a statement game from Liberty and the fan base to travel well to Atlanta.

Uh, I don't think so. All bigger games for Liberty this year are WVU, Coastal, Montana and likely Southern Illinois. GaSt is more like LU's 5th important game, especially with the egg it laid yesterday.

It's a very important game. There just happens to be other games, at least 3 or 4 that are more important. If GaSt wins some games prior to Oct. 3, it's likely that the GaSt/Liberty game will move up and become more important. If GaSt flounders and has missteps it will be 4th or 5th. It's more about the strength of Liberty's schedule rather than a dish at GaSt.

The issue that Ga State is going to have is with a pro style offense, they HAVE to establish a run game, and they can't with that OL. I have no doubts that when Harden returns and Ruiz is healthy (apparently he was injured, but I saw him running off field at one point), Arbuckle will be able to get his yards and TDs. Harden is the real deal, even if he is playing for Ga State. They just have to find some semblance of a run game to help alleviate some pressure. Defensively, they played well in second half and also played well when it counted once UNCC was in the red zone. But, who knows how good UNCC really is, because before the game everyone said they were horrible. A trip to Las Cruces will tell us more about Ga State.

It's not about academics as much as it is about institutional profile.

Being a fan in a fan base that complained that the SoCon was becoming a small school church league; you should be able to sympathize with that.

Isn't good for publicity

The UNC prefixed schools have the exact same relationship to Chapel Hill as State, ECU and App. Its just they have that damn prefix. All 16 schools have their own Chancellors and Boards of Trustees, and we're all under the same President and Board of Governors. The UNC prefix helped in 1965 when Charlotte College had 3600 students. Today, it's more a hindrance than a help.

Have no fear SBC, if football doesn't work out for the Panthas KSU is right up the road.

Did someone say Kennesaw State? COGS

Johnson City, TN.--(WJHL) With a capacity crowd of 8,217 in attendance, East Tennessee State football ended a 13-year absence with an emotional return to the gridiron Thursday night at Kermit Tipton Stadium.

Unfortunately for the Buccaneers, the final score did not reflect the triumphant nature of the evening.
