Found out it was on ESPN 3 on Tribe Athletics' football schedule page! Was a little surprised myself, but it's going to be on ESPN 3.

Very disappointed that Dedmon is out. Hopefully, it is a temporary one game thing.

Depends on the "illness" for Dedmon. He had a hamstring bothering him keeping him out of camp. The flu or a virus could be short term. Mono could be longer. Not knowing the illness it's hard to say. Nevertheless, he missed a lot of conditioning not participating in camp, this illness is most likely limiting his conditioning. Even if he is cleared to play it could be a couple weeks before he's physically ready to perform at the level we are used to him performing. Hoping the best for him and the team.

RE: WMSB PREVIEW: W&M vs. Lafayette
Dedmon is a special talent with superior athleticism combined with great speed. He is the only receiver we have with the this kind of talent you see regularly on major college teams. As much
of a receiving threat that he is, he also is a deadly running threat on end arounds and the like.
Opposing teams will need two men to cover him at times.

He was also slated to be our kickoff and punt returner and is a major threat any time he fields one of those.

If he is out for any length of time...and it is more than three weeks right now....it will be a serious blow to chances.

Laycock has sort of downplayed his illness, but you can be certain they are more than upset about it.

RE: WMSB PREVIEW: W&M vs. Lafayette
Good write up. Thanks for taking the time to do this. For those of us separated by time and distance, this is quite useful.

Thanks for the info on ESPN3.

I'm curious about Dedmon, as you all are. I'm hoping this is something minor and that he will be back for the UVA game to get some game reps before conference play begins.

From what I've read so far, it appears we should have a better ground game than Lafayette. Lafayette's strength is defense, so keeping their D on the field longer would be a help. Their QB seems equal to ours with their receivers more experienced than ours and having a significant height advantage on jump balls with our CB's. If we can pressure the QB by getting through their inexperienced O Line QB without having to give up too much in the way of resources from the LB's and DB's to accomplish this, I really like our chances and the set up for the rest of the schedule, barring injury.

We'll see how Reeves, Hart, Kuzjak and Armstrong do tomorrow. There's Heald too. Might not be the big threat, but ball control passing game with a strong run game could get us through this one.
