The first connection that was publicly made between CCU and the Sun Belt was when John Brady opened his big mouth and let slip we were talking to them. That was on May 23rd, roughly 3 months ago.

Indeed. It looks like a hanging chad.

Therefore, UTA Football is the most likely for replacing Idaho.

Probably a pipe dream, but USM would fill that Mississippi void and create a contiguous league

. . . . And what's your timeline for them doing that? Last I heard from anyone connected with UTA, they were talking 3 to 5 years, and that's once they've made a decision to actually bring it back . . . . . While Idaho is not the answer, UTA may not be either . . . . fWIW, I'd love for UTA to resurrect its dead football program . . .

Nothing but upside from a Bobcat perspective . . . ..

Had the same thought myself, but as you said . . . Pipe Dream, just don't see them leaving CUSA . . .

Give it a couple years, they(CUSA) continue to slide, while we(SBC) continue to climb, they(USM)may be willing to make that move.

So CCU first "season" will be starting with spring sports in spring of 16? Or starting with basketball in 16?

Kinda looks like we need a team in Mississippi or Oklahoma based on the Map--Other than the obvious of cutting loose the Vizzandizzals of course. Any ideas? Can't think of any strong FCSers in the Sooner state.

...or Tennessee. How about the Mocs? I know the Sun Belt has approached them before.

I know we were just added today, but if the league ever wanted to go to 14 for olympic sports, Chattanooga and Southern Miss would fit ever so nicely (I know...highly unlikely).

There aren't any. Oral Roberts has good baseball but is very small and have the Southland the finger after a year

Nothing in Oklahoma. TN and/or MS connects the Conference. That's why I have pushed either Chattanooga or Tennesse State in the past. But I have learned, TSU has too much to lose with their Classic Games. UTC makes the most sense from every perspective but they would definately be another eastern addition. That would be an outstanding 14 Memeber, 7/7 conference (sorry Idaho) if everyone got on the football train.

U of I should just pick itself up and move to Oklahoma. Can become full conference member, all problems solved. Gosh I'm a genius.

Jackson State, they do have a stadium that seats over 60,000. Don't think they are a viable candidate. They are the only one I can see in Mississippi that would even sniff the surface of moving up to FBS.

I kinda like leaving Mississippi blank, like a true dividing line between our east and west divisions. If we are ever cool enough to have a true neutral site CCG, maybe we hold it there..."Mayhem in Mississippi" or some such.

Not to get off subject but I really think the person who has the best record should host the conference championship game. I am being realistic because if we did have a neutral site for the Conference Championship we would get like 10,000 people. If the Team with the best record host they should get 30,000 + for that game, and would create incentive to have the best record. If you are the team with the best record you deserve it, if you do not have the best record, well you have a little of a up hill battle because the other team would have home field advantage.

Plus to beat a conference rival at home would be icing on the cake, also if you did win and your the away team it would be even better to beat that team at there home stadium, and would create more fan interest.
