UAB recruits buying into Blazers, Bill Clark as head coach
Excerpt:

Tyler Jones figured he'd just get a job and give up football after he left the University of Memphis following a redshirt season. Then, the offensive lineman heard UAB football was planning a return to the field, and Bill Clark was still the head coach.

Clark once recruited Jones when he was coaching at Jacksonville State in the fall of 2013, but Jones wanted to go the FBS route. After getting his release from Memphis earlier this summer, Jones was put in contact with Clark.

The Albertville native became the first new player to sign with UAB football since it was reinstated in June with plans for a 2017 return to the field. Jones and more than 30 others who reported for a team meeting and workouts at the start of the fall semester will train for two years leading up to that moment
