Judging from the insiders on here (I've not spoken to anyone I know about this topic myself) it appears the consensus is leaning heavily toward CCU and probably with the door being left open for NMSU & EKU for possible future expansion. So... my guess is CCU and nobody else at this time.

The best COA is to add Coastal and NMSU as all sports members. Strengthening basketball and baseball. Then put the full court press on Missouri St to come in after 2017 when we can boot Idaho.

Curious... Who are your two nay's? My assumption is stAte & the Cajuns, but that's just a guess.

From what I have heard (and by folks that are only BARELY in the know), Texas State will follow how the Cajuns go.

In a conference like ours, it's nice to play "Us Against the World" and I totally get the mentality behind it. .. .

But I think in reality, it's just an IL LUUUUUU SION, as we're all pretty much lookin' out for Numbet 1.

But it's not "when", it's "if". You can wait on a golden ticket for a very, very, long time.

Unless the Big 12 adds 2 and that appears unlikely now the conferences are pretty much set. Wish all you want the prospects of a Belt team moving to another conference are slim.

the one... "lucky" thing we have is that Idaho is a known temporary team...

So we could have an opening for another FCS or (if we do things properly) poach from another FBS conference in the future.

I hope that Coastal gets the invite - so if what you post turns out to be official I wonder what "a couple of years" means for Coastal football. I'm hoping it is basically just enough time for the stadium to expand but the timing is uncertain due to the state approval process red tape.

I say there is no way that we invite either EKU or CCU Olympics only with football coming in a couple of years (in other words, longer than the standard 2 year transition).
