To be the best you gotta beat the best. Tired team was a Davis excuse, don't remember Anderson bringing that up ever. A good ten man rotation should keep guys healthier and changing up the practice schedule/ routine.

Looks like a great year to install those new suites they've been talking about in these discussions about facility improvements. No need for the upper deck seats this year.

Atrocious.

I think the schedule is fine considering the problems UAB has always been faced with. Every year, people seem to think that UAB can dictate who plays them and we can pick and choose who we allow to play at Bartow. THE BIG TEAMS DONT WANT TO COME TO BARTOW.

He has better teams coming to Bartow than last year. Every team plays cupcakes. That isn't going to change. If you don't like it, sorry.

Win the games on the schedule and it will take care of itself.

Would hate to be a 26 win team and be on the bubble still. If it's really a big name school and they don't want to play at Bartow, PLAY AT LEGACY ARENA.

We can certainly earn an at-large bid as AB said by avoiding WTF losses. Until we break the F_U road curse, we won't take our program to the next level.

And then that Rice game... 03-puke 03-puke 03-puke

I'm sure schools that played UAB OOC last season felt the same way as some of us do this season. As of January 1st, 2015, UAB had an RPI of 309. KenPom ranking was 244.

Wow... I really would like to know what's behind garbage like this and ours. Like what are the driving factors behind this. Is it a problem ALL mid majors have? Is it coaches thinking they have to play a 97% patsy non conference schedule to keep their job? Is it some type of trickle down effect of television? Is it mid major egos (as I've seen on display on this board a time or two: SCREW [insert power 5 school who has all of the money in the world and doesn't need us or any other mid major on their schedule and who might actually draw more than 1,200 fans to Bartow]! there's no way we should do a 2-for-1 with them!)? Whatever it is it's getting old...

It's way easier to not think about that, and just complain about the schedule.

RE: Men's Basketball Schedule
And what would you suggest? You and others complaining about the schedule? You can't force people to play at Bartow. It is a problem UAB has had for years, even when Bartow was here. In the early days, he was able to get top teams to come thru influence and friendships, but once they figured out that UAB was a tough place to play, games have been though to come by. It takes two teams to make a schedule.

Every coach UAB has ever had has struggled with scheduling. Even in our worst years, we are fairly good at home.

I ask again of those complaining. Has Haase turned down games? He has done as well as any coach we have had. As a UAB fan, it is something you deal with.

Also, you can't lump UTEP schedule with ours. Theirs is a lot worst.

Especially compared to what we had just a couple years ago.

RE: Men's Basketball Schedule
I don't have any insight into scheduling or anything like that, but I just always chalked it up to being a mid major that is relatively good at home regardless of record. I'm cool with the schedule. Some of those schools aren't familiar to me, but what can you do? That's college basketball.

RE: Men's Basketball Schedule
The schedule isn't great, but it's not garbage either. I would always err on the side of playing a strong OOC a schedule, given the crappiness of our conference. Look at last year. We played a tough OOC schedule, got brutalized, and then turned a huge corner during conference and post season play.
