Dear 2Intense,
Too bad Mr. Brown is basing his predictions on hunches. We will see how the season pans out, but saying Kent and Miami will be better than Eastern, when they did nothing to distinguish themselves last year, to me is just what I said earlier.....a hunch.

Article - THE RETURN OF MACTION
I find intriguing when people predict emu to be 1-11. Emu has a second year coach and a more favorable schedule yet folks predict them to be worse. Does not add up.

Dear steve and Bob,
Ye of little faith. When Western collapses this year, and Central falls into the basement, what are you going to say?

You were 1/2 right. 03-lmfao

WMU is a good team and will weather a very tough schedule.

CMU could collapse, hence you'll be half right.

And, of course, I would be 100% right (I have a smile on my face) with my prediction that WMU will thrive but CMU won't.

I was listening to Hondo Carpenter (MSU writer and blogger) on the radio this morning. He thinks MSU is going to be an outstanding team again this year but that WMU is going to give them a tough battle at Waldo. Western Michigan is definitely not going to collapse this year. CMU has enough talent returning (they creamed Eastern last year) to be pretty good again this season.

Dear Bob,
There won't be any tough battle, and I stand by my statement about Western. Central has nothing returning this year except their quarterback. They (Central) have no running backs of any consequence, and lost their best receiver. Add to that new systems, new coach, who has never been a head coach, and you have problems.

What exactly does Eastern have? No one is picking them to win more than 2 games.

RE: Article - THE RETURN OF MACTION
Dear Bob,
They have Reggie Bell who could emerge as one of the top dual threat quarterbacks in the league. Eastern also has some of the best running backs in the league, and has depth at that position.
The defense should be improved with some of the Juco, and other transfer players that have been brought in. Lastly, do you remember where Western was picked to finish last year? Fifth. So, if Western can have the kind of turn around that they had last year, so can Eastern.
I am picking them to win more than two games. Ye of little faith.

Well Ken, when the boy cries wolf for 20 straight years and nothing happens, yeah, you tend to lose faith. Talk is cheap, they need to show something, anything. Talk means nothing to me at this point.

You bring up a good point Bob. That's why I am so glad that polls/talk/ratings,etc mean nothing, the game is played on the field. I will say, based on what I have seen and know about the program, you will not see the same product on the field as last year.

Twenty MACsters who could shine this year including a lot of familiar names (e.g., Ibe, O'Connor).

Dear utpotts,
You obviously have a reading problem. The statement was 'some', but since you brought it up, I'll put Eastern's running backs up with Toledo's any day of the week. Sorry, but you have no monopoly when it comes to running backs.

Let's pump the brakes a little. Kareem Hunt is probably the best (or 2nd best after Franklin) running back in the league. The annoying, opportunistic Toledo fan that pops in here every now and then is right on this one, sadly.

Agree. EMU is very deep with unproven talent at RB. Breck Turner is an interesting recruit. He had offers from a few Big Ten schools and half of the MAC (including UT).
