It shows how dishonest Watts and the BOT have been about this process.

I just wish I understood how to get people to care about the huge injustices happening at UAB.

It's great to have the local business leaders doing what they can for fundraising, but at what point do we have some folks throwing their weight around to actually make thinks happen? Like firing Ray Watts or getting a contract signed for Coach Clark. Has everyone magically forgotten that Watts is carrying around 4 votes of no confidence and that football was only the straw that broke the camel's back?

I get the feeling something will be released Monday or Tuesday. Just a hunch.

When is the September BOT meeting at which the contract would be approved? If not then, when is the next? Feb? I suppose a conference call could be had to approve a contract that would be agreed to between BOT meetings...

They could definitely do it with a conference call and have done it before. Timing of board meetings won't really factor into it at all.

Most people do not care unless it affects them directly. Sure people will send emails and make posts on FB but rarely will they use their wallet unless the outcome will directly affect their lifestyle.

The time is near to renew those no-confidence votes. Emphasize that the NC votes from before were not reflective of one particular "event" or "episode" but reflect an ongoing crisis of dysfunctional leadership (or non-leadership) at the university.

Well, the average size of an Alabama resident's wallet is much smaller than a lot of others.

Do the Falculty still feel that way? Has anything changed since then? I know at one point it was rumor that Watts was trying to strong arm people into not votig no confidence.

Hatred for the bumbling incompetence and unearned arrogance of Ray Watts continues to burn with the fury of a thousand suns. His repeated displays of pig-eyed greed and stupidity have burned away the last shreds of compassion for a mentally ill individual well out of his depth.

Senators will rotate off during the new year, but Watts has only damaged his reputation further and continued to display an utter lack of leadership. The strong-arm tactics are fact, not rumor, and also violate all the norms of university governance.

When school opens next month we will let our feelings about Ray be known once again. For starters, the August 18th meeting would make a fine FRW event.

Well, looks like Tuesday's meeting will be about getting Clark his contract. Simple as that. I suggest protesting on the streets again.

& now we know that the contract in theory will not be done unless the money needed in the budget is there.
