I don't think I'd term 1461/gm in softball or 3869/gm in baseball garbage if that's what's we're selling. Our basketball needs to step it up but I'll take top 10-15 in the country in the other two sport every year.
Where do these numbers come from? Things could have changed since I was in school and attended sports other than football in Boone, but I don't recall ever being counted at a game. I only ever used a tickets or had my student ID scanned at a football or basketball game. I recall that everything was just open - you could go in and out of the venue without passing a gate.
Then yours probably come from tickets sold which is what I think just about everyone reports now. We can't walk in and out of any event... Have to have ticket or student ID.

RE: All-sports attendance 2014/15
I believe Texas State softball general admission tickets are 6 dollars, baseball 9. They go up slightly for marquee games.
(at least the last time I was able to go)

I imagine the numbers are from the official attendance numbers. My understanding is that most places count their paid attendance for the official numbers. Based on CajunFanatico's response, it looks like the Ragin' Cajuns use actual attendance.
I imagine most also keep track of actual attendance, but that number is harder for an outsider to to find unless that is the attendance number the university has decided to base its official attendance on.
I'm a dollars and cents person so I personally have no problem with the use of paid attendance since that comes closer to matching the event's contribution to the program's revenue.
USA also counts tickets scanned only. Even so, most Jags fans in the stands where I sit are shocked every time they announce the attendance, thinking it was way underreported most of the time.

RE: All-sports attendance 2014/15
Some attendance is no longer important? I clearly remember in 2013 when GS had a cap on attendance because of construction people saying we needed to get of attendance up. Of course no one did their homework to see that we traditionally averaged about 20000 at the FSC level.

In what way? I realize that not all schools sponsor the same non-football sports, so there is no direct correlation, but non-football attendance should be a pretty good measure of how well each school's fans support the program as a whole.
ULM is [by this measure] 3rd in non-football attendance in the conference. That would indicate to me that the Warhawk faithful are pretty good about supporting all of ULM's teams, relative to other SBC schools.
Frankly, the whole conference needs to find a way to improve attendance in every sport, even the Cajuns, whose non-football attendance was greater than total attendance for every other SBC school except TxSt.
The fact that the numbers are crap and are across the board.

The problem is USA isn't counting. Tickets are counted by people who couldn't care less about attendance in a stadium that doesn't have any sort of automated turnstiles in order to get an accurate count. If the 40,000 seat stadium is half full and they announce 12K, then that's what it is. The OCS will fix this.

Ive been to multiple UL games, FB, MBB, BB, SB where my ticket was not scanned. I think we under report most of the time.

Baseball and softball have been scanning tickets for at least the last two year unless it's in the last couple of innings.

Whoa - except for NMSU's basketball these numbers are brutal.
Besides NMSU, I think you could actually make a real case Allen (Tx.) High School would be a better add than EKU or CCU.

Those numbers are pretty good for NMSU. Volleyball would be tops in Belt. The womens sports are respectable. Baseball had a bad year and it still translates to middle of the pack SBC. Total non-football would have been second overall. CCU's baseball is pretty good nationally and basketball is decent. The only good thing I saw with EKU was basketball though.
