GA St vs TX St - I have friends there
CCU vs NM St - Beach vs Desert

EKU vs Ark St - Nearly Border War

No, I'm saying forget adding either CCU or EKU. Forget dropping Idaho & NMSU. I am saying if we were pushing to add two Texas teams and only two Texas teams, there would be pushback from the east (and rightfully so).
That's why the simplest answer is still to add simply NMSU all sports, then when Missouri State (or another western school is ready), you add them and the east's choice of EKU/CCU (and wish Idaho well on their way).
No the simplest choice would be to add JMU, Mo. St., NMSU, and drop Idaho. Unfortunately neither of the first two appear interested so it's off to plan B.

Jax St is more then ready when it comes to football. Will need no immediate improvements to the Burgess-Snow Stadium. Basketball arena is getting an overhaul.
Forget the fact they are in Alabama and they are in like JMU.
I realize you are from Alabama, but I cannot see how you can believe that Jax State is a better add to SBC than EKU. No offense intended to you personally or to JSU, but overall EKU has better athletic program history. Financially more prepared ( they say this themselves on the JSU forum) our basketball is better, Alumni Coliseum is better (I know they are doing some upgrades), larger student body, overall better history iin football, their football program has been successful, but no better than EKU since they joined the OVC/FCS ( I think we are dead even in W/L vs each other), our athletic program has won the Commisioners Cup 3 out of the last 4 years and won it more times than any other school in the history of the OVC ( men and women). Now they do have a remodeled stadium, which we, as has been posted on here over and over, are in the process of a compete over haul. Their attendance in football is better. We have been over the attendance issue numerous times, people just do not care for most of the teams we play in the OVC here's an example. UK playing Mississippi State and EKU playing Austin Peay, where are casual fans going to go? EKU vs Western KY or Marshall on the same day? We are going to get our share of casual fans as well as a lot of our alumni and fans who have lost interest in seeing Austin Peay or UT Martin ! I believe that with a upgraded schedule and playing some of our old rivals (MTSU, Western, Marshall) as well as teams in the SBC that will improve. You can look it up, Western KY 's attendance was no better than ours until they joined the SBC. Their biggest crowds were vs EKU, and that's a fact. I guess my issue (and its your board, I know this) is the negativity toward EKU without giving a reason other than "EKU does not excite me" or Some folks giving other schools a pass on the very same issues you criticize EKU for.
On a lighter note. The Colonel. He is our lovable guy, our mascot. We have heard it all believe me. We laugh at the jokes ourselves, so bring it on. I have heard they are doing as rebrand of him, I hope so, the one we have now was brought in about 10 years ago. I prefer the original guy, maybe they will bring him back, we can hope!

If we add NMSU all sports, drop Idaho, and also get EKU and CCU i'd be very happy with that setup.

This can be a lot easier then Karl makes it, problem is he wants to try and create his super conference like he did with the WAC. And we all know how that turned out....
Because apparently many of the presidents are worried about travel cost to App State. They must really need a App to have a "travel partner."

RE: Sun Belt Visited EKU Recently
I would be for NMSU in all sports and it seems to be simple to move forward, so my question is why hasn't this been done and why does there not seem to be a push from NMSU for this to happen? Perhaps, they prefer to be football only? Geographically and cost speaking, it probably doesn't make sense for them to join in all sports. Traveling to App, GaSo, and GSU can't be cost efficient to non-Revenue sports.

There has been and it is very known we want in the SBC for all sports we are basically at a wait and see.

There's GOTTA be some other reason for it to not happen. It's well documented the NMSU wants an all sports invite, and they are the one simple move to get to an 11/12 set up (satiating the "football is not the driver" statement).
That's what leads me to believe it's gotta be an east/west thing. East wants CCU or EKU, west wants NMSU... and like in all negotiations, it's not over until NOBODY is happy.

Ultimately we are all still waiting on the Big 12 rule on the CCG. Until then, we don't know who will be in what conference we all land in.
When is that ruling going to happen anyway???

But we do draw more than 2,000 to a playoff game.

Explain to me what you really know about EKU? I am serious, you throw all this crap out there. Have you ever been in Kentucky or set foot on EKU's campus? I guess you have been to Liberty, JSU, UT Chatt and JMU and did an in depth study and compared us all across the board. You must have, you have done everything but write a dissertation on EKU. Or maybe you are just a closet Western goat topper fan. Give it a break, you don't like EKU for whatever reason, fine we get it, but you are no more correct (nor an expert) on the merits or lack there of of all schools mentioned than Obama is on the honesty of Iran!

To answer your question yes I have been on your campus.
Atteded both a football and basketball game. Your gym is high school
Your campus looked stuck in the 1960's. You have more UK fans on your campus
Than eku fans. You can go ahead and defend your school to the max but
This is just a message board that means nothing. I was just pointing
Out there are many choices out there that have better facilities and not located
In the shadow of their state's flagship university. The Sun Belt does not
Need to hurry a decision. They are the only game in town for a FBS slot
For a FCS move up. The University Presidents vote in new members not message
Board posters but I admire that you have passion for your school. I went to Memphis
But my wife is from Kentucky and been in the state many times. And yes I have
Been on the campus of all the schools I mentioned. I am a sales
Manager that sells to colleges in the Southeast.
