Troy AD update

I think that's where we are as a department. Jury's still out on men's basketball, but I'm pleased with our coaches in football, baseball, women's basketball, golf, soccer, tennis, and softball.

On top of being a great fundraiser you also need a man that won't cave to the two names up the hill that insist on trying to strangle the athletic department financially. Hartwell was very good at that.

I'm not a Troy fan because of wins and losses.

According to this mans bio... He's good at raising money

McClain joined the Southern Miss staff in October of 2012 as the Deputy Director of Athletics. In his current role, McClain oversees the day-to-day operations of the department and his direct responsibilities include revenue generation, which includes licensing, corporate development, fundraising and ticket sales. The areas under his supervision include marketing, communications, development and ticketing. In 2013, under his direction, the department set fundraising records for the annual fund of $2 million and another $8 million for the overall athletic foundation. He also has been responsible for securing funding and supervising major facility projects, including: a track renovation, a football turf replacement, the baseball weight room project, a golf practice facility and the Reed Green Coliseum renovation project.

Great hire by Troy. A lot of people here at Southern Miss were hoping McClain would stick around and take over once our AD Bill McGillis moved on.
