Thanks. This is terrible news to have happen in such a pleasant community and we all should be praying or having them in our thoughts. My prayers are for the victims, their families and the community.

Friend from Lafayette just posted a picture of two of the victims. He was wearing a Ragin' Cajun hat. I really hate to see this. Cajun nation will be in our thoughts.

Sometimes we have a tendency to criticize our officials, including police. And, I think it happens in every city.

Last night, four officers were on site IN LESS THAN A MINUTE.

Was thinking the same thing. I'm on a research trip and completely removed from the movings of the real world, but in reading this thread, that was one of the things that struck me. May have even saved more tragedy. This is all pretty hard to process.

Guy with a mental disorder has no problem buying a gun.

He was a person from Alabama and had bought the gun there.
