2016 should've been a year to do what South Alabama did their first year or two -- playing those private military academies, junior colleges, etc.

Nothing in the announcement says we can't...

You will see some scrimmages in 2016 open to the public.

RE: 2017
Is there any reasonable expectation of some facilities to at least be up and/or under construction by the time we officially start play again?

Yes. If they don't pull a fast one, yes we could have construction underway on a IPF and Football Building. (Oh and Ingram's most important project, a new running track)

What about replacing the grass with turf? Is that still happening?

We need to get this done ASAP since it's a recruiting tool and would be used fall of next year. Well maybe not so much the track :)

This again raises my question: Is there a benefit to me paying earlier/faster than I planned? I'm happy to if it's beneficial, I can stretch it.

Only with perception. There is a 5 year plan in place and like Atalla has said we're paying the freight for the operational gap (no subsidy for football from UAB). The facilities are being paid for by a separate effort. I plan on doing both. It'll get my wife used to paying for the box at the new stadium :)

Well, to late for an old man like me, guess I'll have to go with Auburn. Hate it but at my age it will be difficult to again go with UAB. Hope I'm around and able but I doubt I will be able. Good luck.

RE: 2017
I would have preferred sooner, but I think that's just because I'm still angry it was wrongly taken in the first place.

In the end, I think 2017 is best as we will be back and ready to go. No sense in coming back in 2016 just to get pounded. By delaying and hopefully getting some good recruits and facilities to come on line, a 2017 return should allow us to be more competitive.

RE: 2017
At least we got info & beginnings of a timeline for things. As legal said above did UAB ask for 2016 or 2017 & what did the NCAA tell them, I'd kinda like to know but I'm ok w/ 2017 but would've liked 2016 as a fan of UAB. I won't withhold my pledge but I'm waiting to see what happens w/ Clark's contract & given that result would be willing to start my pledge sooner than I said.

Overall at least things are moving in the right direction but many questions yet to be answered in one way or another but still feel Watts need to go for trust to be fully restored in the admin as I just don't think he'll ever been able to get it back no matter what he does.
