Away: NC State, Howard, Virginia

That should leave 5 more games.

Lots of room for upgrades to what appears to be a lackluster schedule. These games must have been set up; let's hear about them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is "lackluster" about ODU, High Point, NC State and UVA???

Sixty two
One mans lackluster can be another guy's 'just fine'. That's what makes a horse race. Scheduling is complicated. Lots of intervening variables. I like the UVA game. Since the Maryland game some of these guys probably stay away from us. I'd like to see the Tribe in Philly or New York. Lots of teams there.
My local team, UCI, gave Hamden Sydney a game last year. Lots of empty seats. Will Chk attendance for the struggles vs Howard and Mary Washington. Should help with the diversity crowd.

There are a lot of NY area alums and a new alum affiliation of the Princeton Club in NYC, so a game in NYC could certainly be made into a part of some event. Again, we really should try to schedule vs Fordham...in both Bball and Fball.

The Howard game is a road game. Mary Wahington is simply a post exam warm up game, there won't even be any students on campus, never has been for these annual games. The other games - so far - all pretty good.

Our CAA schedule already provides a number of games within driving distance of Philly/NY, at least four. We've also played recently at Rutgers and Manhattan (won both). I wouldn't mind another game or two in the area outside the CAA - but would also like to see some OOC in some other areas - the Midwest, Southeast, etc.

I would like a game or two against some of our former rivals (East Carolina, Navy, VMI, Davidson) - also an SEC team (we did get Florida last year). Also like any game against Ivy or Patriot teams. I think we should play Virginia Tech every year, rotating Williamsburg and Blacksburg.

Most important to W&M fans for OOC is and has always been ACC opponents. We have two so far noted this year, better than usual.

No return game from Rice. At least not this year.

So, if Bucknell can get a return visit from Wake Forest this year to their 4000 seat pavilion.....hmmmm.

Liberty probably coming here next season. But, frankly, I really don't care..another lackluster
game. More interested to know if Dayton returning this year's game there at Kaplan next season.
Given our inability to get anyone of note to come to our place I'm not holding my breath!

We don't even have Richmond returning our visit to them last season and another old state rival,
VCU, won't play here anymore.

Our old Southern Conference rivals of yore...GW, UR, VPI, VMI, Davidson, Furman, West Virginia...were much better rivals.
and home games.

Well... VMI and Furman would certainly come to the Kap. The rest are a tougher sell. It would also be nice to at least play at GW and VCU (among other regional teams), which would be easy road games for a lot of our fans to attend. One of these years we will have to punch our ticket in March, and then it will be a little easier to bring in marquee home games.

Really slow getting this completed - but what has been confirmed so far:

11/13: a NC State
11/17: a Liberty
11/21: a Dayton
11/25: Hampton
11/28: a Howard
12/1: Old Dominion
12/5: a Virginia
12/19: Mary Washington

I would hope the remainder - should be 5 more - are home games....

Well, West Virginia should know the strength of Virginia schools this season. They play UVA, Tech, Richmond and James Madison, all in the first month of the season.

RE: '15-'16 Men's Basketball Schedule
I'm dreaming that we might see remaining games filled by weak ACC teams or eastern NCAA teams from last year. VT, Wake, Hampton, Belmont, Albany, Lafayette, Coastal Carolina, Wofford, Harvard, Davidson, etc.

I'm assuming the ship has sailed on VCU and Richmond. High Point is in my opinion has been a good match. I always enjoyed Furman when I was in school. ECU is close by, although their fans that I've known were not the best.

Another DC game to go with Howard could raise our recruiting profile there.

RE: '15-'16 Men's Basketball Schedule
I believe we have 5 games unmarked so far.

Heard earlier - and would make sense - that High Point would be one of these, a home game.

The only possible VA teams that would appear likely left would be Hampton or Longwood, neither provide any goosebumps.

Also believe as a tradition for seniors, we typically play a road game if they tend to be out-of-state. With Terry Tarpey, I would not be surprised if we see a game at Fairfield on the final schedule. Terry got press - a comment in the Stamford CT paper - after almost every game we play, or so it seemed, last year. He has a huge following in Fairfield County CT.

As far as other home options, Navy and a few Ivy teams (Dartmouth/Columbia) have not yet finalized their schedules - so any of these would be welcome home adds.

If Hampton game confirmed, they took a hard hit last week when one time Tribe recruit and local product, PG Deron Powers, transferred to Hofstra for his senior year.

As I recall, the Tribe attempted to recruit Powers, but he was never an actual "recruit". I believe there were some academic issues. I would have liked to see him play for the Tribe, he is an exciting player to watch.

Updated again, Central Michigan of the MAC added as a home game on 12/29.

The week leading into and covering New Years is going to be busy at Kaplan.
