Since reopening his recruitment, Mamoudou Diarra has heard from Mizzou, Wichita St, SMU, Cincinnati, Mississippi St, & NC State, per source.

His name reminds me of this other dimension villain in the Marvel Universe:

Dormammu

Definitely a more athletic looking guard than we have brought in recently. Jump shot looks pure, too. Excited to see him this fall.

Interesting. He's on his final visit, to Missouri, today. Was at UC and UConn last week. He can't go to UConn. Oddly, they already have a Mamadou Diarra.

Supposedly he's a huge project offensively. Not really sure what to think about this one. I thought a big with some offensive game would have been the priority.

Haven't you heard? UC is not allowed to recruit bigs with offensive skills. They must have an upside potential of 4.3 points per game and average 4 fouls per game.

Gary Clark and Yancy Gates would like a word.

Well Clark and Washington actually have an offensive skill set, but the guys on the roster behind them that will be taking over in 18-19 pretty clearly don't. Just surprised they aren't using that last scholly on a frontcourt guy who does.

I thought Mick has evolved his recruiting philosophy to attract more skilled offensive players. Also, since we are building a new arena, I thought we were supposed to be recruiting at a higher level.

The game is evolving around Mick and he doesn't even realize it. Sometimes I feel like he is stI'll stuck in 1996 and thinks he can play the physical grinding style of play and win with Shaq Thomas, Titus Rubles, and and G'Lawn Guyn type players.

Hopefully Carlton Bragg happens. I guess I am just assuming that if he was that highly rated coming out of high school he must have decent offensive skills.

Regardless Mick needs to make a jump in recruiting. Honestly with the way things go now with transfers I think leaving the scholly open is way smarter than taking on a front court project especially when you already have two of those on the team.

Sounds like he is very quick and have heard that his ceiling is very high. Yes he is a bit of a project and likely redshirts next season, but sounds like he could turn into a steal if he develops. Big if I know, but we need big guys and sounds like a guy worth the risk.

Until you know for sure that all of the current recruits(and players) are going to be here in 2017/18 not to rush to judgement. For all we know someone might not be eligible, etc.

Cut Nasty, then we don't have to read his posts.
This isn't HS tryouts. Quadri will be a little more productive in 17-18
behind Clark and Washington, a valuable asset.

Just saying we need a productive and reliable frontcourt scorer in 18-19. Hoping we don't turn down Bragg because of a lack of scholarships.

He's aware. He spoke to this during one of the tourney interviews. i imagine recruiting skilled bigs is probably the most difficult position to fill but JEIII, and Cumberland are probably more representative of this change. i'm intrigued by Keith Williams, might be the next component of this change, but to say he is unaware is false.

I think the new model for UC is going to more big, athletic scorers on the wing.

More and more programs succeeding with servicible bigs and great perimeter talent. The game has changed from the old days of just C, PF, SF, SG and PG lineups.

Agreed. The lines between forward and guard have blurred considerably in the last decade. SMU took it to the extreme last season, having every significant contributor be a 6'7"-ish slasher that can shoot threes and bang inside for rebounds. But it makes sense for UC to follow this trend, which we've seen with guys like Jarron Cumberland and Jacob Evans.
