I Had absolutely NO idea Southern Miss had to change their logo because of similarities with Iowa's

This is dumb. I don't even see the similarities. I mean, I guess they are both yellow and birds, but other than that they are completely different.

I doubt we'll ever have any problems with confusión about the name Ragin Cajuns though I guess it's possible our mascot the cayenne pepper might be construed by some to look like the WKU bloodclot.

This has actually been an ongoing ordeal for a few years. Southern Miss had to stop using the old logo on the field and on uniforms two football seasons back. I like the new logo though.

This is a trademark issue folks, not Iowa just being mean. Iowa had trademarked that logo already. If Southern Miss had trademarked before Iowa, the Hawkeyes end up changing.

For the record, Troy's T looks nothing like the Titans or Tennessee or whatever. It's not even the same color scheme. I have literally talked to people before who I were convinced were Southern Miss grads, only to find out they were Iowa grads because you can barely tell the difference in Logo's.

I understand it's a trademark issue and that Iowa has held there's longer but despite identical colors and both being bird heads, they are both distinguishable to me; Hawkeye logo is A very abstract design while the golden eagle is quite detailed

I always thought WKU's mascot looked like what Elmo's ***** might look like, if Elmo had one and it was circumcised.

Guess I wasn't paying much attention.

Thanks Sid. Frankly, I don't get it. To me they don't look that much alike.

I think if the Iowa one was on a black shirt or had a black background, you'd have trouble telling them apart from any more than 15 feet or so probably.

Confusing how this comparison is too close and wrong but this isnt?

The Green Bay Packers logo is the original. UGA's AD in the 60's had to ask permission from the Packers to use the red and black oval G design. The Packers also gave Grambling permission to use the logo.
