Don't put much stock in that. Marshall will not go to the HOD bowl. And I don't see Notre Dame in the bowl that they are in. If Toledo vs GSU happens, that could be really intriguing.

Could a team opt out of the NO Bowl for the Cure Bowl?

I'll be at any bowl game App goes to, just curious.

I agree that a stAte-La Tech and App-ECU match ups would be very intriguing.

Only way Louisiana is ever not in the NOLA Bowl is if we are in the Access Bowl.

Sure...as long as you are comfortable never being selected for New Orleans again...

I would think the NO Bowl would prefer ULL or Ark St. and if ECU were in the Cure Bowl, App fans would prefer it, win/win. My question really is does the conference look at what bowls make the most sense or is it a strict hierarchy in which the NO Bowl picks first always?

Chiefsfan knows more about this stuff than I but I think the New Orleans Bowl, as our longest tie-in, gets first pick followed by GoDaddy. I'm sure there's some consultation with the coaches and AD's, but I believe the bowls generally get who they want as long as the teams are bowl-eligible, of course.

It's a combination of pick order and what makes financial sense, matchups etc. they look at everything and try to do what makes the most sense.

This.

Though, if the site in this case is predicting App State to win the league...than I imagine App would actually go to Go Daddy, they are pretty famous for wanting to get the champ if at all possible in a given year...

Ha, LTU R will not accept a bowl with UL NOLA or any other place. LTU R has zero credibility with NOLA Bowl so they are the appetizer not the entrée. If NOLA is forced to pick other than UL and APP State wins the conference then yea that might be a match.

Let's never forget the yellow streak LTUR had vs ULM in the Liberty Bowl, or refusing to go play ULM in the Liberty Bowl. Would they play ULM in the NOLA, NO.

We ought to do it like the medical residency match program. Each bowl eligible team makes a 1-4 list of their bowl preferences in order. Then the bowls do the same for the bowl eligible teams. If a bowl and team both have each other for #1, then that's a match. If not, move down the list.

Probably stAte would indeed make an excellent NOLA Bowl team, y'all been demanding we not go for three bowls now. So surely you would put 50K in there and pad our pockets like we did yours.

Actually it's people who don't understand the new orleans bowl #1 doesn't mean first place it means first choice.

Get your facts straight. Tech held off on giving the I-Bowl an answer to their invitation because we were hoping to get an invitation to the Liberty Bowl. ULM never had a chance of getting invited to play in the Liberty Bowl. The I-Bowl got ticked off and withdrew their invitation from us. The Liberty Bowl didn't work out for us and we sat at home. We missed being bowl eligible the next year, but followed that with the CUSA West title and a win over Big 10 member Illinois in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.

Hopefully, we'll again demonstrate how absurd your comments are when we play ULL this October. Maybe ULL will play well enough that we'll keep the first string in the game for the entire third quarter this year.

False. CUSA lets teams choose where they go based on conference finish. ie- Marshall going to the Boca Raton Bowl last year over the HoD Bowl, despite being conference champions.
