I had to check.

They weren't SEC at the time, but 1996, ULL 29 - Texas A&M 22

Otherwise...

Always a first time though.

I was at a game where we had Bama on the ropes late in the 3rd quarter, don't recall if it was B'ham or Tuscaloosa. We'd pretty much dominated the game to that point. When they finally figured out they could lose the game and came alive, so did the fans. I'll never forget the roar that arose from that stadium that, until that point, had been mostly silent. Oh, we lost.03-banghead

I was at one in Tuscaloosa in 84 (I think). May have been that one. Seems it was really close at halftime. But that was a L O N G time ago! 04-cheers

From what I understand, their stadium is being renovated. The above is a virtual image.

Please Cajuns beat them! UK has 8 freaking home games this season and I drove by the stadium the other day and it looks like a disaster, they will be pushing it to get the stadium ready in time for your game...

We'll do our best though we usually screw the pooch in these kind of game. For the record, I don't believe the Cajuns have EVER beaten an SEC team on the football field.03-banghead

We've tied Ole Miss and beat A&M 5 years before they joined the SEC...does that count?

Just looked it up using the link above. It was 1989, they beat us 24-17 and went on to finish 10-2. I do believe we led at halftime with a score right before the half. Brian Mitchell was our qb. The year before we lost to them 17-0. I recall one game was in B'ham and the other Tuscaloosa, but don't recall the order.

Also recall that both flights back were flights-from-hell because of the weather. And you're right, it was a long time ago.

Sorry, the Ole Miss tie doesn't count but I'll let you slide on the 5 year rule.04-cheers

If you ever had a "seat" in the upper deck of A&M's stadium (before the latest renovations) you felt like you were going to plunge to your death any second.

If not for a quick whistle on the guard around its very possible it would have counted.

Don't forget that Mississippi State tie, in which we went for the tie instead of the win . . . 03-banghead

Jeff Caldwell kicked a 22-yard FG with 9 seconds to play, making it 15-15

And we can see why he's an elementary school PE teacher now!
