I definitely think Grimes can sustain his career one way or another as a 3rd down back who can block, and who has great hands--just as he was in college. He likely will never be a workhorse, but can be a Shane Vereen type

This Hard Knocks is so frustrating. I spend the majority of the time yelling at my TV set to put in Grimes.

According to behindthesteelcurtain.com B.W.is not projected to make the 53 man roster. They pointed out how in the last game he was put in position to make up for other people's mistakes, and he did have an INT. in practice last week.

BW and Kevin Fogg from Liberty are fighting for one last spot. I would say it is a tie and will be decided by remaining 3 preseason games and special team plays.

Fogg got an INT in the HOF game but BW made the hit and jarred the ball loose and Fogg grabbed the ball. Fogg did admit he owed BW dinner to repay him for the hit .

Yes, he played. Just didn't have a tackle.

RE: 10 Tribe Players in NFL
RJ has shown really well. Seems locked in as their third QB.

From Seahawks website.

R.J. Archer took advantage of his opportunity.

With Tarvaris Jackson out with an ankle injury, R.J. Archer played the entire second half, and Seattle’s No. 3 quarterback had a pretty solid outing. In particular Archer was sharp on his first drive, leading the Seahawks deep into Chiefs territory before the Seahawks had to settle for a field goal. Archer went 4 for 5 on that drive, including a very nice throw to Tyler Lockett for a 25-yard gain.

Until Jackson gets back, Archer will have a good opportunity to prove himself, and while his numbers weren’t spectacular (9 for 14 for 83) he made some good throws and most importantly took care of the football.

BW made no tackle last game, Fogg had 2 (1 solo). This could mean no receiver caught a ball near BW and Fogg allowed 2 receptions or it could mean something else...I didn't see the game.

Didnt see BW in the game much. Fogg also nearly had a fumble recovery for TD, off a punt, but bobbled it and another Steeler picked it up and ran it in. Fumbled return was overturned though, so did not count toward stats.

B.W. played in the first half with what seemed to be the 2nd team D. and did not have a pass thrown near him, from what I saw

RE: 10 Tribe Players in NFL
After 2 preseason games, my prediction is as follows;

Lock: Sean Lissemore, Mike Leach, Jonathan Grimes
50:50: Jerome Couplin, BW Webb, RJ Archer --> Couplin came on strong after surgery. RJ had a mistake free game.
PS: Tre McBride, Mike Reilly --> Tre is yet to catch a pass, but he has enough potential. Mike's blue collar mentality will get him a spot.

RE: 10 Tribe Players in NFL
If the Seahawks keep 3 Qbs on the 53-man roster, then I think RJ is a virtual lock, especially with Jackson recovering from an ankle injury and questionable for the first game. Agree with the rest.

Have no real sense of Reilly's chances, but teams often gives guys switching positions from college to the pros a year to develop on the practice squad.

RE: 10 Tribe Players in NFL
I think McBride is a lock. They aren't going to put him on the practice squad. If they do some other team that likes him will sign him. Remember that he was a projected 3rd or 4th round pick. My guess is that someone would sign him right away. If he gets dinged up I could see them putting him in IR to hide him for a year.

I don't think Grimes is a lock at all. There are going to be a lot of younger backs available after the first and second cuts.

I think Archer will be the backup regardless of Jackson's health. He's younger, as mobile and is a better passer. Jackson has no upside. If they didn't like Archer they would have signed another journeyman to compete with Jackson.

Grimes played very well in the last preseason game against Denver. Five rushes for 23 yards and 2 receptions for 12 yards. His age is not an issue. He's 25, which is arguably the optimal age for an NFL RB. Still very young, but with a few years under his belt. He also knows the offense, so I just don't see him getting displaced by another squad's discarded RB. I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't make the final roster.

RE: 10 Tribe Players in NFL
I hope you are right with Grimes, but he was going to be the third back at best without Foster getting hurt. They love Alfred Blue in Houston. My hope is that Grimes somehow becomes a third down back who catches passes and runs. He could make a decent run in the NFL with that mold.
