Cajuns’ Dylan Moore lands more freshman All-America honors
Quote:Louisiana-Lafayette freshman closer Dylan Moore on Monday was recognized as one of 34 freshman All-Americans by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Moore, from Hughes Springs, Texas, set the Cajuns’ single-season saves record with 13, even though he didn’t start the season as the closer.

The right-hander finished with a sparkling 1.60 ERA, striking out 40 batters in 50.2 innings while limiting opposing hitters to a staff-best .205 batting average.

Moore was at his best during the Cajuns’ run to the NCAA tournament’s Baton Rouge super regional, earning saves in four of the Cajuns’ eight consecutive wins during the Sun Belt Conference tournament and Houston regional. He worked 9.2 innings during that stretch without allowing an earned run.

Moore is the first player in program history to earn multiple Freshman All-America honors; he also was a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American.
