I think we'd have to beat Clemson and complete not just an undefeated season, but to win most of them handily.

We might get away with a loss at Clemson and/or closer conference games if the P5 beats each other up.

I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Obviously Marshall's schedule was weaker than Boise's but Boise has the brand recognition and wins over P5's....kind of wish that scenario would have played out to see what it would take..

boise has (2) top 25 wins. Marshall played ZERO P5 programs. prestige didn't have a ton to do with it. Boise's resume was way better.

Who were Boise's top 25 wins? They might have beaten two teams that were ranked at some point in the season, but I don't think they beat any who were ranked when they played.

F/+ and ESPN FPI Rankings of Boise's Opponents
5 / 9 Ole Miss (LOSS)
49 / 61 Colorado State
119 / 116 UConn
72 / 77 Louisiana
48 / 75 Air Force (LOSS)
64 / 70 Nevada
102 / 88 Fresno State
46 / 39 BYU
94 / 113 New Mexico
76 / 81 San Diego State
113 / 114 Wyoming
52 / 66 Utah State
102 / 88 Fresno State

Boise had a decent hand and won on the river card when WKU knocked off Marshall.

Ironically, Boise has it's current name recognition from consistently demolishing a terrible WAC.

ah! that's my mistake. I mistook the ranking number on espn as their opponent ranking. It was their own.

For TXST, I think we could get in with an 11-1 record as long as our only loss was to Florida State and it was close.

Oh, and Florida State would have to actually have a good showing next season.

If they lose a lot next season, our win wouldn't count for all that much when you're talking about getting into the access.

Like another poster stated, every sunbelt team has to overcome the perception of being in the sunbelt. We need to get teams ranked asap.

Also ironic, that's what the SBC needs to get a team in the top 25. Have a standout program (or 2) that consistently demolishes a terrible SBC.
