I feel good about this squad, but I don't see how this writter can discount the top teams in the SB as well as Wyoming by saying the schedule is weak outside Clemson. Maybe we should play 4 P5 schools OOC next year???

Bleacher Report says App is the sleeper school in the Sun Belt. I totally agree. The Mountaineers have a lot to live up to this season. Great expectations, indeed.

While I agree with you, I think it is still a relevant sore spot for Michigan fans. I fly for work almost every week and always wear an App State hat when I travel. Without fail, every time I'm in an airport, I get either the death gaze (more common) or a friendly congratulations (far less common) from someone wearing Michigan gear, even 8 years later. Often multiple times when I fly through Detroit.

And anytime I mention where I went to school to anyone out side the Southeast the response usually "that was awesome when you guys beat Michigan."

Can't tell if you're serious or adding a little bit of tongue and cheek action in there, perhaps a mix of both. But seriously, this is why I hate the offseason. Preseason anything is complete garbage. I know it's just to get the fans talking and speed up summer but rankings shouldn't come out til the first week in October. App won't know what they have on the field until after the Wyoming game in my opinion. The main reason that App is being talked about ahead of everyone in the SunBelt is because of the returning starters and how we finished last season. After the Liberty game I felt like the coaches just said F it and played who they thought were the best players which just happened to be mostly underclassmen. I really hope we have a confident humbleness about ourselves. A 3-1 OOC and dropping 2 games in conference for a 9-3 record would be my guess and a hell of a year.

I love the passion of GaSou, reminds me of App but damn you guys act like the Kardashian's of the college football world. If you're not getting positive attention then you start acting like little b****es. I know this is a message board, I get that, but I feel like your fans wouldn't beat their chest so much if they felt like they were getting the respect they deserved. Right? I've come to terms with the fact that App will always have to prove themselves to the college football world. A couple of years from now we play Penn State and it'll be the same old s*** of "who is "AppaLAYCHUN State" are they Division II, blah blah. We're not "there" yet. But put together a string of 9-10 win seasons over a solid 10 yr period with some P5 wins and the college football world will start to take notice.

Well it was your toughest conference match up of the year, despite it being a completely different team than the one that took down ULL and Ark State. You played the team that lost to Liberty.
