However, I would qualify it by saying that it is most accurate only of the most vocal of message board fans. Personally, I and most of the Georgia Southern fans that I converse with would better be described as cautiously optimistic. At this point most seasons, including this one, I'm just hoping that we win more than we lose, and everything beyond that will be a very pleasant surprise.
I'll buy cautiously optimistic with a touch of confidence.
I will put us in that cautiously optimistic with a touch of "I can't look" with a big amount of prayer...(not really just want them to play to their God given ability with humility)....a touch of rabbit foot rubbing and 4 leaf clover biting.....and voodoo on our opponents .....but none the less the change has come and good, bad or ugly.....I am glad the change has come and am confident only in that our coaching staff will not be outworked from here on out....

I'm confident we will be in the top half of the conference and I think we should be the favorite going into the season. I will say that Appy, Louisiana, and stAte are just as talented (with 3 other teams not far behind). I'm giving Georgia Southern the edge because we are the reigning champs, have the easiest in conference schedule and are returning just about all of weapons with O-Line being the only real question mark.
If we aren't in a bowl this year I personally will hand out the pitchforks and torches.
