We do not take being told what to do very well, just ask the King of England, we gave up land and homes rather than being told how to worship, and who should be our religious leader.
Yeah and then moved to a non-English colony. Then when the French gave the Louisians territory to Spain there was a rebellion against the Spanish in 1768 (Insurrection of 1768) St. Francisville was the Capitol. When the Spanish came they put down the rebellion, shot the Rebels, and the officials who were in charge. It was the first major rebellion in America. The reason why it isn't to well known is because it was not successful.
Then drove the English out of New Orleans in the War of 1812.

It wasn't because of time constraints or any sort of NCAA or ESPN mandate. As some of you may know, in a tournament such as a regional, the anthem is played prior to the first game of the day only. Baylor and UL was the third game of the day. Problem was a majority of the fans in attendance were not around for the first game (Miss St/Weber St), so we did not hear the anthem. Out of habit we stood for the anthem after lineups were announced. The PA announcer stated that they wouldn't be playing the anthem as it had already been played earlier. This sort of ticked the fans off, so we decided to sing the anthem on our own without the accompaniment.
This is the norm for most tournaments be they Basketball or Baseball not that it could not be different sometimes.....If there are day and night sessions the anthem is usually sung at the beginning of both of those.......HOWEVER, with that said...the P.A. announcers announcement started an outward display of pride and patriotism. At this time when it seems that anything remotely conservative is under attack the fans reacted to the pride and patriotism and maybe a little to the what the heck we can not do What??? It turned out great and the everyone responded in a way that came out making YOU GUYS at Louisiana came out looking and ACTING great.....
Thanks from a Troy Fan!!!
