RE: Former UVA QB, Corwin Cutler, Transferring
More on this: He played HS ball at Sullivan Catholic in VA Beach and was considered a top 40 WR recruit in 2014. It looks like he wants a better opportunity after doing very little in 5 games as a true freshman. He will have to sit out a year if he transfers to a FBS program.

Interesting for the Tribe. Catholic HS, from VA Beach, wants an opportunity, probably doesn't want to sit, Tre McBride is in the NFL, academics, 2 coaches following him.

He's 6'2, 210+ and simply crushed the stats book in HS.

Looks like three coaches following him now. I know next to nothing on the twitter patterns of our coaches; do coaches follow people they are recruiting, or only follow after they have some sort of commitment? Seems to be a lot of love for Kamara from some major school fan bases, though as you say, WM offers a very interesting mix of academics, chance to play immediately (and be seen and get to the NFL), and family can come watch quite easily. I think the prospect of playing against UVa this season may hold a little appeal as well. As mentioned, could all be coincidence, but certainly seems very interesting. Gives us something to chew on as we roll into the void of Tribe athletics of the summer months.

Also noticed the follow of former FSU QB John Franklin III by a coach. 6'1 dual threat that runs a 4.4 40. Seems like he'd be a nice addition to the qb stable, or make the change to a wr or RB. Sounds like he is very talented, just buried in the numbers.

I believe Cutler cannot transfer to W&M. The NCAA rule is that transfers cannot transfer to a school within their conference or any other school on the next season's schedule. Since we are on UVA's schedule that would prevent him coming to W&M.

The only thing I don't know is if this NCAA rule also applies to transferring from (using the old names) 1A to 1AA
teams on the schedule.

It's not an NCAA rule. Those restrictions are placed by the players current school as a condition of releasing the player from his scholarship contract. Could be no restrictions, or could be complete refusal to give a release as was the case with Joe Flacco when he left Pitt. He had to sit out a year at Delaware.

For those reading the tea leaves of Kamara's Twitter account, one of the WM coaches stopped following.

On another somewhat related note, one of Tech's young QB's is transferring:

Along with confirmed reports of Tech QB Andrew Ford transferring, there are unconfirmed reports of redshirt junior TE Dakota Jackson leaving. 6'3" 269lbs and runs 4.65 40. 385lb bench and 465lb squat. Roanoke native and 3 star (#18 in state) recruited by UVA and Duke out of HS. If true (Tech states he has not asked for release), not sure if we'd be interested with who we currently have, but we'd sure seem like a viable alternative for him, being in state and doubtful he wants to sit out another year at this stage.

Kamara is "a no-go" for Wisconsin. My guess is ODU or ECU and not WM. He left UVA due to grades, which are not good enough for the Badgers, so surely not us either.

Has anyone commented on the fact that Hampton has David Watford of UVA as their quarterback for our Homecoming matchup this year?

Yeah, he transfered there. They won't be as much of a walkover as I'd like
