Because of timing, there is no way one of the Arkansas teams could be eliminated after the first game of their DH, because no one else has played yet. That means both teams will have something to play for in the night cap. This is where the last week as rivalry week comes into play because some teams have nothing to play for but pride, and the opportunity to knock a rival out of the tournament. Such is the case of UTA, who is in the tournament, but also has the glorious opportunity to knock Texas State out... Cajuns are still playing for 2nd place, and also playing a huge instate rival. Both Arkansas Schools have everything to play for, and do not like the team they are facing.
Could see a lot of very interesting play tonight. It would be far more fascinating to watch if I didn't have a team with a rooting interest in this. Instead, I'll be curled up in the fetal position in the corner trying to get through the day.
No DH for stAte and UALR. Saturday game up in the air.
I've been told we will make every effort to play tomorrow.
Grist graduated today, jumped into the San Marcos River and pitches a gem tonight.
If we hang on and make the tournament, Dunk him again before his next start . . . .
Congrats to him on the Win, and more importantly . . . The Graduation. . .
Wish him all the best moving forward . . .
SENIOR DAY TOMORROW, 6 Bobcats to be recognized before the 1pm first pitch . .
I think Grist must have gotten his Master's. I believe he graduated last year but was redshirting due to TJ surgery. If I recall correctly, we were sweating if he would stay for this season.
AState wins 4-3 in 14 innings of the Wildest baseball game one can ever imagine. Both teams knew that they would be out or basically out with a loss, and a tie game after 6 turned into a war of attrition as UALR Senior Tanner Rockwell battled AState Seniors Chandler Hawkins and Colton Kibler. Rockwell thew 7 innings without allowing a run. Kibler and Hawkins combined for 11 innings allowing 1 run.
In the 9th, UALR put a runner on 3rd with no outs, only to watch him get thrown out at home on a SINGLE to right field. Right fielder caught the ball on a hop and threw in one motion, firing a strike to the plate to get the runner.
Finally in the 14th, Rockwell ran out of gas, and UALR turned to tomorrow's starting pitcher. It backfired. A Walk, Wild pitch and an error put the winning run on 3rd with 1 out, and after an Intentional Walk, Senior Stuart Levy hit a game winning sacrifice fly.
UALR is officially eliminated from Sun Belt Tournament contention. AState needs a win and a loss out of either Texas State, or 1 loss in 2 games out of ULM.

Senior Day in San Marvelous tomorrow . .. . Afraid we cannot accommodate your wishes. . . . . You'll have to count on ULM . . . .

Well...the bad news for us is that we have no pitching left, starting a midweek guy tomorrow, and we still need help from our friends the Mavericks and Cajuns.

Well good news is that Yall would be a 8 seed and Troy would be a 1 seed with Rings from a conference championship. So I really couldn't complain if that panned out
Ok so, with GA southern beating Ga State today Troy has secured a top 3 seed at the tourney. To keep a 2 seed Troy needs ULM to take 1 from the Cajuns or Troy needs to win 1 more from USA.
Troy can win the SBC regular season with a DH sweep tomorrow or win one of the DH and the other game canceled due to rain (50% chance of rain in mobile tomorrow) thus Troy and USA will be co-champs same as 2013 and Troy will be the #1 seed. If USA wins 1 game they are SBC regular season champs and #1 seed.
IF both games are rained out tomorrow USA is SBC regular season champ and Troy is a #2 seed no matter what The Cajuns do with ULM (I'm sure USA would love to cancel both games tomorrow)

Surprised this hasn't been posted. Cajuns and Warhawks made the Sportscenter Top 10 last night (and a few other national outlets) with the SBC Rain Delay Rock Paper Scissors Championship. There was also dancing and other hijinks involved
