I posed this question earlier, so I'll share it with you...you can" play" in the rain, but you can't play in the rain?
Yes.
If you have to ask that question you shouldn't be a part on the conversation.
Wow...you really told me...If you're comfortable with the way in which so bama won this trophy, it's your right, but I suspect they didn't want to lose to Troy on their home field again...it was going to happen.
I'm plenty comfortable with it because I know it rained nonstop Friday night to early Saturday morning then again from Saturday at noon until early Sunday morning.
There's was never a point at which the games could have been played (regardless of what a couple of Arkansas St fans 14 hours away have to say about it).
It's not football where you can play in the rain. Rainouts are a part of baseball.
Move the game times up into the early afternoons on Fri and Sat and the series gets played. make sure you stop by Riddle-Pace and see the best field in the conference. Standing water is not an excuse there.

The forecast on Friday did not indicate the amount of rain that was coming, so moving the Friday game earlier didn't seem necessary until it was too late. There was no way they could play Saturday with the constant rain and thunderstorms.
Troy officials agreed to the rainout (the "decision was mutual," I was told) and USA tried to arrange a Sunday game.
As USMGH said, rainouts are part of baseball. Troy has only themselves to blame for not winning a game or two more earlier in the season.

I'll never disagree with the premise of getting it done so it's not left up to someone else...y'all stating the obvious is boring to me, but weather effects some more than others...again, Troy's field doesn't turn into Great Adventures or Six Flags after a little rain.

RE: Last weekend of Belt regular season baseball
Ya know what? Those rains they got Saturday were down here on Friday. We had tornadoes touch down. We went on lockdown at work. They CLOSED MY STORE (something that has never happened in my 17 years with the company). There was a ton of rain in that system. It was not baseball friendly weather. Let it go. It happened and can't be changed.
How about just focusing on what lies ahead?

Again, Troy's field doesn't turn into Great Adventures or Six Flags after a little rain.

1st of all, Great Adventures is a Six Flags. Just no one actually from NJ would ever call it Six Flags though.
Try Schlitterbahn or Water World.
On another note. There were a ton of rain outs this year and this is the only one anyone is complaining about? We could be pissed because we lost a whole series. So did our women. Maybe we could have ended up in 5th, or 4th. Women? Maybe 2nd seed. We don't know. Just stop it.
As we've been told; if you are good enough you'll win, no matter what. Let the players do their thing in the tourney.
(I get both sides and I get the frustration but it's not worth all the aggravation)

Now was that a nice thing to say. Its just a little controversy that we are not a part of and just trying to put it out with ...a little gasoline...

Except it didn't really rain in Monroe as much as it did in Mobile. Most of the delays were due to lightening in the area and then some showers during the delay. Nothing too heavy.

And something that we happened to fall victim too ourselves a couple years ago.

I vote we have South Bama and UL-Monroe play a playoff of rock-paper-scissors to determine who goes to the Sun Belt Tournament.
