Tulane just signed four star guard Melvin Frazier
i have not been kind to Tulane men's basketball coach Ed Conroy the last few years but his recruiting class this year is really looking good with three local four and three star players. Will purchase season tickets for next season. Frazier is from Higgins High School in a New Orleans suburb and was actively recruited by LS U A&M,Oklahoma State,Arkansas and many others. The AAC is a great basketball conference and everyone of their conference games seem to be on national TV Moving from CUSA to the AAC has made a major difference for Tulane in quality recruiting. I think recruits are taking serious notice of this.

Congrats to Tulane. Look across the board and everyone is recruiting at a higher level. Just wait until everyone gets 4 to 5 recruiting cycles under their belt

Really nice high quality pick up. I think this guy is your beat writer - no? >>

From an article in local media:
Quote:Frazier had previously announced a top four of LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Arkansas but admitted Tulane was always in the mix and made the decision to stay close to home.

If Tulane were still in the same conference it was in 12 months ago, Von Julien and Melvin Frazier would not have signed with us.

I also think the unexpected wins @Memphis and @Cincinnati got the attention of some people who hadn't thought of us in a long time (if ever). Yes, there were some bad losses mixed in over the course of the season, but still…

i said a couple weeks ago before your last 3 recruits that this was likely going to be the best recruting class in tulane history, even though it didnt seem like much to everyone else in the aac

now its for sure the best recruting class in tulane history and actually pretty good for the aac standard

It looks like across the board the aac is recruiting at a high level. Good sign for tv negotiations in the near future. Constantly having rpi of 200+ teams isn't good tv inventory and it looks like that is changing.

Institutionally, Tulane University has a great package to offer the top talent. Conference affiliation has been the missing piece, till now.

Thanks. I think the AAC is a great conference and all teams are recruiting better in football, basketball and baseball and getting more national exposure with more TV games thanks to Aresco. I might be crazy but next step is to get our own AAC channel on Direct TV like the SEC.
