Geographically speaking, no. Lovejoy is near DFW

lol this might actually kill htown takeover lol

we pick him up who is a decent qb, but their was another 3star qb who we all wanted and is still deciding but likely goes elsewhere now

there was a bunch of kids from westfield HS who were all pushing to commit to UH together but are taking there sweet time deciding (all have 15+ offeres mostly power schools)...the qb, a consensus 5star Dline & a consensus 4star all american WR....the 5tar is actually the most open to the idea and loves UH the most and has even talked 5 other 4 or 5star defensive players who he has met in elite camps around texas to heavily consider UH, official making their top 10 lists or whatever (he wants us to be like miami of the early 2000's and 80's https://twitter.com/dalblac99/status/585210480475578368)

if you go the houston forum, normally getting a commit with a nice offer list like his would be a cause for celebration but everyone isnt really posting (rather not be rude)..becuase in the back of their mind they are all worried this might destroy the bigger plan of getting all those elite kids..we were are the border of potentially gettign the greatest G5 recruiting class ever and are now in limbo

My sister went to Hoiston. I really hope Houston pulls this off. I enjoyed our game in 2011 despite the final score. Now plant some palm trees!

First, we were ALWAYS taking two QBs in this class.

Second, worrying about who we might lose because a kid commits to us is pure lunacy.

Welcome Bowman!

no we dont....maybe 50% of the years at BEST....(only 3 years in the last 9)
and almost certianly the second qb that came on in those classes, we were their only offers or offer as a qb (green. keenum, ward, piland)

the kid from westfield, has major power 5 teams pushing for him with no qbs ..to be the only qb prospect for ucla, a&m, florida, arizona st (not including his other 10+ offers)....or to come battle for playing time at g5 houston..

you can be naive about football recruiting if you want..but the chances of getting him have dropped from like 70% to less than 5%..and the all american WR who said he'd come to UH if the qb did but wasnt that big on us and liked some of his other 30+ offers..went from 30% to about 0%

I don't really care about package deals. Good wide receivers are a dime a dozen. Anyone can look good catching balls when the one throwing to them is great, just look at all the lightly regarded talent that broke records with Keenum throwing to them, and compare that to 5-star Greenberry's problems with Piland/O'Korn/Ward. I want the best QB playing for UH period, and if Bowman is what the coaches wanted, so be it.

a 6'3 WR who runs a 4.3 isnt exactly dime a dozen, according to his scouting reports the only thing keeping him form being a 5star is he needed to adds some muscle which can be easily remedied, that he is elite in every other regard which is why every major team has offered him

..but i get your point and kind agree

and again its not a jab at bownman, both of the qbs look great....but you know one of them likely came with a heavy dose of talent who were willing to follow

So SMU takes Moore so Bowman had to settle for Houston. Should be fun to watch them play against each other. My money is on Chad making the rich choice. Sorry Bowman you have to have no fun at the commuter school.

Morris offered Bowman Sells at Clemson after Sells' freshman year. Herman offered Sells at Ohio St after his sophomore season. Both coaches have longstanding relationships with the kid.

You calling me naive about football recruiting is the funniest thing I have read in a long time. I have tears I am laughing so hard. Thanks! 04-cheers

PS I am not sure what prior classes have to do with this class. We are taking 2 QBs in THIS class. 100% certainty.
