Could maybe get back into the teens on the NCBWA poll. We were #20 last week.

D1baseball continues to snub the AAC. Somehow we are the #3 conference in college baseball, yet don't have a single top 25 team in their eyes. Idiots.

I thought it was 20 or 21 before the weekend. Great winning games Saturday and Sunday against Tulane with exceptional pitching.

Despite winning our midweek game, and taking 2 of 3 on the road against a top 40 RPI team in Tulane, the Coogs DROP from #20 to #21 in the NCBWA poll.

lolokay

ECU, Memphis, and UCF also receiving votes.

I don't understand it either... The AAC is clearly the 3rd best league and yet they ignore the fact.

They're has got to be something all of us in this league could do to let them know the AAC isn't a small time conference.

Perhaps bringing lots of signs "The AAC is a power league too" to all National TV games.

AAC is like the Big East is basketball. A bunch of good teams playing competitive ball against each other and keeping each other RPI up. Big east did it well, b12 did better. At the end 80% or more of there teams were eliminated by the first weekend(if not the first day). The only difference they got the benefit of the doubt and we wont. Having a lower amount of teams will help keep the RPI up. Only way the AAC makes a statement is Omaha.

1 Big 12 Conference 103 22 0.8240 0.5817 1 0.58
2 Big East Confer 94 31 0.7520 0.5703 2 0.56

3 Atlantic Coast Con 146 45 0.7644 0.5605 3 0.56
4 Big Ten Conference 134 44 0.7528 0.5571 4 0.56
5 Southeastern Co 121 51 0.7035 0.5560 5 0.55
6 Pacific 12 Conference 105 41 0.7192 0.5453 6 0.55

Basketball

RPI is over rated, neither top 2 conferences made the final 4. But yet conferences 3(1), 4(2), 5(1) had teams in the final 4. The top 2 teams had smaller conferences just like the AAC. High RPI does not=championships. We will get 3-4 teams in. We do not have the street cred that the BE/ACC has in basketball. If we did we would have 5-6 teams in.

RE: UH climbs into #25 spot in new Baseball America poll
You're doing a sh*t load of assuming with a data set that I can hardly even call a sample size, much less a sufficient sample size.

Look at our top 6's OOC wins:

Houston: Alabama x2, Rice
UCF: Arkansas, Maryland, Ole Miss x2, Florida
ECU: NC State, Duke
Memphis: Arkansas, Mississippi State, Ole Miss
USF: Cal State Fullerton, Illinois
Tulane: SELA x2, Creighton x2, UNC Wilmington

That's a lot of top 40-ish wins for a conference that is just "gaming the system". Even though they've fallen back down to earth a bit, UH and UCF were both ranked in the top 6 this year. Memphis, USF, and Tulane have all been ranked. ECU is currently receiving votes.

AAC baseball is legit, so quit trying to conjure up ways to determine otherwise. We may not have a clear cut favorite to get to Omaha, but we have 4 or 5 teams that if they get hot at the right time, they can do it -- which you could say that for pretty much every team outside of maybe LSU, Vandy, UCLA, etc. It's not football or basketball, where athleticism just dominates and rules the day.

Just look at us last year. We went into The Box (a place even SEC teams can't take a series), and came out as Regional Champions. LSU went 39-4 there last year. 2 of those losses were to an AAC team.
