You are going to see this in the ACC and Big Ten too, and it's really a no-brainier. The last thing we need is for a 7-5 division champ beating a 12-0 division champ and costing us a berth in the access bowl.

lets be honest, If our 11-1 western champ beats the 12-0 eastern champ, theyre still gonna screw us. I hope the MWC does this. I really do. They arent going to put either conference into the playoff. It will never happen. They will cite strength of schedule everytime.

So let the MWC make an even harder path to their championship. If it costs them the Access Bowl a few times and we secure it because of that, then its perfect. I want the extra $4 million for our conference.

I thought it was only 1 million more they got than us last year? 4 million?

I thought it was only 1 million more they got than us last year? 4 million?

Whichever G5 conference has a representative in the Access Bowl gets a one time payment of $4 million.

If they hadnt gotten the Access Bowl and we did, then we would have been $3 million ahead of them.

In truth, I am slightly annoyed that we get the exact same amount of the money as the Sunbelt, CUSA and Mac. If you look at overall sports accomplishments, the AAC is far and away better than those three and yet we dont get a penny more....but the P5 all do because they say they are significantly better than us.

I think it should be three tiers with the AAC and MWC getting a larger percentage.

Or they might secure the G5 bowl spot by playing one more tough game - for either of those top two teams. It's really not that clear cut. A risk in both directions and we'll see how it plays out --

Each year, the two highest ranked G5 teams at the end of the season should play each other for the access bowl spot. In time, media pressure will force the P5 to include the winner of that game will access to the playoff.

Not going to happen. Coaches and AD's like to play for a division title. I suspect the AAC and ACC conferences won't change either.
