God I hope its John " I bleed Kentucky blue" Pelphrey. He was an awful coach for us. And I would like nothing more than to beat the crap out of one of his teams.

Maybe they go west again and hire Larry Shaytt from Wyoming, from Billy D assistant. He is older so more of transition type who would keep the current assistants. Downside is he didn't do much at Clemson but nobody has done much at Clemson. In 4 years or so he will retire or be fired if he isn't winning, than maybe Billy D can return.

CBS Sports Early list:
The man believed to be the top choice is Dayton's Archie Miller. Remember, Donovan got to Florida at the still-not-ripe age of 30. And look what he did. Landing a young, talented coach can have huge long-term benefits for a major college program.
Foley is known to chase younger coaches when looking to the future. Miller, 36, has reached an Elite Eight, a Sweet 16 and won an average of 23 games through his first four seasons. He just renegotiated his contract with Dayton through 2021-22, but that won't much matter if Foley is willing to pony up.
I'm told it would take a big-time offer and commitment from Florida to lure Miller. If Foley is serious about keeping this program at a top 20 level, and if he believes Miller is his best option, he'll likely have to come with a sizable contract offer. Miller has been public and frank about his loyalty and dedication and appreciation to Dayton, but if Florida came strong and offered far north of $2 million per year, Miller would have to take a long look at an opportunity like that.
Xavier's Chris Mack is as sensible and practical and potentially as successful a hire as Miller. The 45-year-old has as good a resume as any realistic candidate. He's reached the NCAA Tournament if five of his six seasons at Xavier and been to three Sweet 16s, including this past season. He's energetic, superb with the media and among the best coaches in the game under 50. If Florida gave Mack an offer, he'd have to consider it. Mack has deep ties with Xavier. He'll be set either way, but this would be a hard one to say no to.
Another young, up-and-coming candidate who eventually will land at a good job is Louisiana Tech's Michael White. He's the son of Duke athletic director Kevin White. He's a sharp mind and certainly capable of handling a big-time job. The question is if his zero NCAA Tournament appearances through four seasons at La. Tech will be held against him. White has won 25 games/year in his time there but failed to win a conference tournament championship. "Future star" is the term constantly thrown around with White, who turned down Tennessee in the past.
Minnesota's Richard Pitino is another young, logical name, given he spent time as a Florida assisant from 2009-11, has a father with big-time connections ... and who happens to be Donovan's college coach (Providence). Pitino has the least amount of experience (three years) as a head coach of any realistic candidate.
Current Florida assistants John Pelphrey and Anthony Grant also have to be included, though there are caveats. We don't know for certain if either/both would go with Donovan to the NBA. Remember, Grant just got back to Florida as an assistant after six middling years at Alabama, and Pelphrey had four years at Arkansas that included just one trip to the NCAAs.
