First on the list will be adding EKU, followed by adding NMSU as a full member as a compromise. If this doesn't happen...Liberty might get the nod...otherwise nothing will happen.
What's so attractive about EKU? I do understand the fact that they are close to ArkSt but nothing else seems appealing to me. I'm not one of those fans that just assumes a school being FCS makes the institution inferior I have followed FCS for years and know the contenders from the pretenders. EKU, Mizzu St, and Jacksonville St to a certain extent are pretenders. Contenders: JMU, NDSU, Sam Houston St, Furman and maybe UT-Chattanoog.

I think you mean EKU is close to App, not stAte.
But EKU has solid Olympics. Not outstanding, but better than ours in basketball at least.
Adding EKU or Missouri State is more about the Olympic sports, with getting to 12 for football being the bonus.

Football attendance alone should disqualify EKU for FBS.

I have a RESPECTFULL dislike for the Bison
IF NDSU were closer I'd be on their band wagon even if it ment letting them have time to play catchup with facilities. Their football team IS FBS playing at the FCS level and they fill their football stadium for all games. Sadly the MAC is most likely a better fit.

I can answer that with 1 word, NO...In the last 10 years the Cit has avged 5.1 wins per season. Their highest attended game come in 1992 with 23,025 and it took a #1 ranked Marshall to come to Charleston to get that number.
The Cit has about as much of a chance to be IA as Western Carolina or Samford do.

The Bison are very close to being a Top 25 FBS team, by most rating systems. Massey had them ranked 17th in 2013 and 35th last season. They would steamroll anyone in the SBC.

Win against most teams perhaps but steamroll them all? Not likely, we have played the Bison and while they won both of our playoff games they barely beat us the last time. They would have trouble against GS, App, Texas St, stAte and ULL for sure.

I'll give you GS and APP, maybe, but still likely a loss for both. Louisiana and Arkansas State are not on NDSU's level in my opinion, and certainly not Texas State. 2011 stAte vs NDSU would have been a phenomenal game.

RE: My Thoughts on the Rumored Potential Expansion Candidates
I've read some mentions of Coastal Carolina So I threw together hasty information for discussion:
COASTAL CAROLINA:
Enrollment: 9,976
Location: Conway, SC (Pop. 19,300)
2014 athletic budget: $22,314,234
Tidbits: Started football in 2003-all time record of 95-49. 7 Conference titles (have won Big South four out of the last five seasons).
Closet SBC School: Georgia Southern (225 miles)

Well TroyFB05, I guess the SB would have to rise to the challenge, but as I said their location is prohibitive for them joining the SB. In visiting their board many don't think a move at this time is a good idea. On the other side, some Bison fans are pushing for the MAC & even more (as I remember) the Mountain West. In any case I don't see them wanting the SB.

RE: My Thoughts on the Rumored Potential Expansion Candidates
Coastal may look like a good candidate on the surface, but they really aren't close to being ready for FBS. The biggest hurdle for them is fan support as very few people in Myrtle Beach have any ties to the school. Of course UNCC and GSU both have terrible support, and they got invites to G5 conferences so who knows???

JMU took them to the final minute of play the year of NDSU's first FCS Championship during a second round game. Yes, they are good, but should they have played GS last season, my money would have been on GS. Northern Iowa spanked 'em last year 23 - 3.

Why is everyone so sure the whole have to have 12 to have a bowl will be deregulated? What's his name came out and said its a possibility then somewhat backtracked. I'd be surprised if the other p5s let that happen.

There is a thread on the Memphis board that brought up some points about the article stating it would pass. It seems the only people it quoted was the Big 12 and ACC commissioners who sponsored the rule change. Sounds like they are trying to pad support. I hope it flops myself. Of course Memphis hopes if the B 12 expands it will be them.

They are good but let's see how well they do a couple of years removed from there former coach. They have a HUGE advantage at home with the dome. Away from home, the top of the Belt can play with them.

The playoff money is one share per team up to twelve.
So twelve still makes sense for football.
The deregulation if passed helps place the top two teams in the championship game.
