How Pathetic the Sun Belt is
Marshall's 2013 win at an SEC school was a lot more impressive than ours...

It's sad that College Football has been reduced to glorifying close losses

So when y'all moved up, I guess the MAC was crap, huh? Marshall wasn't good, the MAC was just that bad? No, wait, I forgot! That success came from cheating! How could I forget Marshall's biggest tradition!
We paid the price this year because of your slimy program even though we did it the right way.

You mean the MAC who at the time was the best G5 conference in the country and was churning out NFL talent year in and year out?? That MAC conference??

They know our tradition. They know we put the Gators on their knees in the Swamp. They know we had the #8 ACC champs all but beat.
They know my friend, they know. Marshall needs to learn the lesson from last year when the committee said Marshall was eliminated before the season started because it was the worst FBS schedule they had ever seen for a program that considers themselves top tier.
One recommended edit to your post. The Swamp is Cajun Field. I guess you can call whatever it is that Florida plays in the Other Swamp.

RE: How Pathetic the Sun Belt is
CUSAs chickens are coming home to roost.
1) They expanded too far to 14, then it was announced payouts would be based on 12
2) They focused on markets even if the schools had poor support and performance. Now their TV deal will be weak and the markets they have won't matter.
3) Now championship deregulation kicks in which likely stops realignment and they are stuck with too many unproven teams with poor support and performance history.
They are bloated and would love to get to 12 if they could. If they could redo their selections, they would look totally different than what they have now. Meanwhile knowing realignment is done, the Sun Belt will drop Idaho and possibly NMSU to have a lean conference of solid football teams. Realignment resulted in adding Ga Southern and App State who are both poised to have breakout seasons. Ga St is bad right now, but no worse than what Charlotte is and can be.
Hang tight Cajuns and any other school hoping to leave. This is setting up very nicely for the Sun Belt.

right, because barely losing to Ga Tech is nowhere near as impressive as blowing out Sisters of Mercy.
Meanwhile, College Gameday talked about our close losses and how good we are, versus being ridiculed like Marshal was for such a pansy schedule. lol

CUSA mods kick threads like this to the curb, and this board will be no exception. Moving to the smack board where it belongs.

At what point this season was Georgia Southern ranked or even talked about all season? Did you have a Gameday piece? How about an All-Access piece?? How many times this season was your game televised nationally? I live in NY and I was able to watch 13 of 14 Marshall games.

I didn't see Marshall this year because they play on Fox Sports. Nobody watches Fox Sports.

Always a good read when Marsha starts talking about their run in the last 90's.
That was a good read, thanks.

Ice is no longer available in the drinks at the cafeterias at Marshall.
The senior chemistry student who knew the recipe graduated.
Why do Marshall fans like women that graduated from elementary school?
Opposites attract.

RE: How Pathetic the Sun Belt is
You mean a 67-66 shootout which was just as entertaining as the 62-59 shootout between Baylor and TCU. I guess those teams sucked and couldn't play defense either. And please a Georgia Southern Fan should be the last fanbase to talk about academics.
And you bring up what happened with David Ridpath?? Maybe if he was doing his job as Compliance director, he wouldn't have gotten fired for this. Plus we never had games vacated either. So yes Marshall is STILL the winningest team in the 90s.
And as far as national TV and recruiting. How many games was Georgia Southern on National TV this year?? I count 13 for us. Where did you finish in your recruiting rankings this past signing day??
