DURHAM, N.C. – Junior Blake Trahan was named one of 60 players on the midseason USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award watch list on Thursday, continuing the journey to naming the top amateur baseball player in the country in a presentation on Tuesday, June 23, in Los Angeles.

Sponsored by Major League Baseball, and presented in partnership with the Rod Dedeaux Foundation, 2015 marks the 38th year of the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award. The watch list will continue to be a "rolling" list until May 27 -- when the semifinalists for the award are announced -- ensuring that athletes can play themselves into consideration for the award. 

Trahan is hitting .380 on the season with a team-best 11 doubles, 22 walks, 26 runs, 11 steals, 62 total bases and a .493 on base percentage. The Kinder, La., native also has a triple, home run and has driven in 16.

Trahan was named 2015 Sun Belt Conference Preseason POY

Junior All-America Blake Trahan is also one game away from tying the school record hit streak having recorded at least one hit in the last 22 contests. Chris Webb holds the school record posting a 23-game hit streak from April 6 to May 15 in 1996
