If they start tackling each other, then it'll be a sport.
Its as much a sport as diving, ice skating or gymnastics which are all sports based on judge scoring systems, not head to head competition. Perhaps what you see at games is not considered a sport, more a performing art, but the competitions should be considered a sport.

Show me you can do anything even remotely as athletic as this, and then I will listen to your opinion on cheerleading.
Remotely as athletic? Do I need to put it on youtube?
I'm running a half marathon later this year, ran eight miles this morning as a matter of fact. I have run couple 5ks, a 10k. Played high school sports, including football, baseball, basketball and cross country. Ran PT and did obstacle courses and other stuff in the Army for six long-ass years. And I don't think cheerleading is a sport. And FYI, most female athletes in real sports I've talked to over the years say the same thing.
But if it wants to be considered a sport, more power to it. Maybe cheerleading will be the next Olympic sport.
PS. I've seen competition cheerleading, and it's kinda like fitness competitions. Boring, other than scenery.

There are three ways to respond to this thread: 1. Being supportive by saying congratulations 2. Saying nothing at all 3. Be a doosh
You chose the last option, which is not preferable, but +1 for being such a giant doosh.
Congratulations to our ladies! If you are going to have cheerleaders, why not have the best?
