2015 PIT
Marcus opens play in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament on Wednesday night for the Mike Duman Auto Sales team. Will be interesting to see how his game translates outside the Tribe structure. Louisville's Wayne Blackshear in the backcourt with Marcus.

RE: 2015 PIT
Pretty good crop of talent in the tournament.

Also, I didn't see Blackshear on Marcus's team (or anywhere on the PIT website). Only notable players I saw on his team are Henton out of Providence. Maybe Blackshear backed out of the tournament?

On a side note, it would have been hilariously awesome if they put both Marcus Thornton's on the same team.

You're correct....Looks like he dropped out since yesterday....More spotlight for Marcus.

RE: 2015 PIT
Marcus has looked very, very good defensively, but a couple of sloppy possessions trying to split defenders on the offensive end.

Marcus with a couple of nice assists and a pretty 3 pointer in that first half, but not impressed with his supporting cast. His team needs the ball in his hands a lot more, to either dish or score, if they're going to pull out a W.

RE: 2015 PIT
Watched the game and it seemed kind of typical of one of his games for the Tribe. More passive in the first half, making sure to get all of his teammates involved. A couple of nice dishes on drives but didn't shoot it hardly at all in the first half. Tried to split defenders off of ball screens a couple of times and there was help defense waiting for him so lost the ball once doing that.

Game was back and forth throughout the second half and about midway through the half he turned it on and started really attacking. I really think he carried his team down the stretch to the victory. 3's weren't falling for him but he didn't have any trouble getting into the lane and doing his double-clutch hanging layups, drew a couple of fouls. This is partly due to the fact that both teams relaxed on defense more in the second half - not as much help D and Marcus took advantage.

He also played pretty good defense although he still runs into too many screens, but did a noticeably good job boxing out and chasing down rebounds.
