Defining a Bright Future for Tribe Athletics
The 3k was a tidbit that the community is lacking a venue of 3k. The idea being a smaller Hall would benefit the community as well. My sense is that it will be smaller than the current hall, but not 3k small. As many have said, 5-6 seems the likely end state.

RE: Defining a Bright Future for Tribe Athletics
A couple of years ago, the Tribe Club sponsored an "Alumni Athlete Giving Challange" as a way to increase support for Tribe Athletic programs. The results of this Fund Raising program were reported to Tribe Club members at the end of five years.

I was shocked and surprised at how few former athletes provided financial support to their sports. Especially as many of them had been reciepients of full ride four-year scholarships to the College. The participation by Women Athletes was especially disappointing given that they receive an equal number of scoolies as the Male Athletes.

23.2% of 4955 Mens Sport Alums contributed during the five year period
compared with
15.1% of 3140 Female Sport Alums contributing

The highest % contributing by sport were:
Mens Gymnastics 32.8%
Mens Soccer 27.7%
Football 27.7 %
Mens Basketball 18.3%

The lowest % contributing by sport were:
Womens Basketball 11.0 %
Womens Track 10.8 %
Field Hocky 10.2%
Lacross 9.8 %
Womens Golf 7.4 %
Womens Tennis 4.9 %

This challenge was done again last year, and the percentages improved.

The alumni giving challenge is done every year now. Numbers have jumped pretty significantly in just the few years since it has started. Here are last year's numbers for all sports:

Looks like the participation rates have improved considerably, except for football, which has the greatest number of alums of any sport.

During the first five years, the oveall participation had improved only 3%.

If anyone missed out on reading the 10-year report earlier, or if you want to be reminded, we came up with the "Spark Notes" version here: http://wmsportsblog.com/2015/04/24/tribe...year-plan/

Roll Tribe!
