Well, if he does take the job I'm sure Mullet will be excited to see how well he does coaching on the west coast.

Yeah, but you can't put a price tag on the misery that traffic will cause. I mean, a $1.5 million per year raise is nice, but is it really enough to compensate for the traffic? When you consider he'll be working banking hours, he'll constantly be in traffic.

Mullet as a TV weatherman:

[Image: brick-tamland-brick-tamland-1981263-480-256.jpg?w=620]

"Right now, it’s 82 degrees in our fair city, and compare that to 48 degrees in the upper Northwest and 38 degrees in the Middle East."

With traffic that bad, imagine Shaka trying to get into an Outback Steakhouse!

Harrison twins, Winslow along with the big guy that was a freshman there this year would be a great team under his system. There is enough great talent in the state to win a NC

Yea that's right, Austin has that Malibu weather.Weather sucks in Austin, basketball sucks in Austin and it is a wannabe big city with all the problems and none of the amenities of big city life. But Texas has power house money if nothing else.

He wouldn't be going for the social life. He's going for the program. A lot of big programs are in rat holes.

I thought Smart was married with a family? It matters to most people where they live-Greenville is the classic dump with a CC.I dont see coaches lining up to coach there and they pay pretty good!

You're comparing EZU to Texas? With that kind of money, I'm sure he can get his family in the burbs with easier access to what they enjoy doing. If I was hauling in nearly $3 mil a year, I could adjust.
On the other hand, even though Florida gave Donovan an extension, he is still looking at the NBA. Smart may wait and see what happens there.

I think Donovan going to the NBA is partly (or mostly) due to his inability to compete with the style of basketball Calipari has created at Kentucky. Calipari has made a career out of using one and done superstars. The SEC aside from Kentucky has been fairly weak in terms of a power conference. There's not currently an upside to staying at Florida for Donovan. The logical upward transition for him is the NBA.

And yeah... maybe I did reach a little for ANOTHER reason to take a jab at Calipari.

And for all you younger Seahawk fans that don't know, John Calipari once donned a UNCW uniform briefly.

Pure Pleasure Strip Club in Richmond is offering Smart and his staff a lifetime of free lap dances if he stays at VCU. That sure beats the traffic in Austin.

Apparently heavy traffic in Austin wasn't an issue.
