A conference's perception is the sum of the each individuals program's perception (which can be positive and negative). If the perception of one program rises, inherently the conference's will rise as well.

that must be why everyone thinks the SEC is such a strong basketball conference. I mean, UK is the favorite to win, so obviously people think the rest of the conference is really good too.....

If Kentucky was worse the perception of the SEC would be worse than it currently is.

I understand your point about raising the perception to the level of the MVC or WCC (it certainly hasn't done that), but each positive outcome by a member does impact the conference just as a negative outcome does. Simple concept.

We are talking about a single win by one team. This only opens the door for people to recognize GaSt as being a pretty good program. If we can somehow get two teams in, and both win a game may that has a positive impact on the conference, but only if multiple other teams had great regular seasons.
